Vintage Garcia Mitchell no. 386 spinning reel in very good condition. Number stamped on underside of foot is 374975. Reel appears to have been used very little. As there are just a few scratches on spool floor and some paint rub along the edges of foot/stand. Metal is shiny, no rust or corrosion, no mildew. Cranks smoothly, drag works, anti-reverse works. this reel appears to have never been wound with line. there are no dents/scrapes/scratches anywhere on the reel. any blemishes you see in the photos are dust. everything w orks as expected. also includes mint unused large reel. this is a first version reel. As it has the 4 star drag and the small hole in the anti-reverse lever the box shows some wear. the original paperwork and manual is missing. this reel is midnight blue has 5 to 1 retrieve ratio serial number is 3700494. foot and box#s match. I believe this reel is from 1962. But I am not an expert on these reels, so ask questions!

Vintage Mitchell 306A Manual pick-up spin reel This medium large spin reel was made in France in the 70s& wieghs 18oz. It will hold 250yds. of 15lb. test. It is in very good condition but shows wear but not much paint loss. It has a black colored metal body. Smooth drag, good anti-reverse, and good gears, a nice rolling roller. This reel has a 3.8/1 gear ratio and has the after market manual pick-up and is a strong& good quality reel, it is a grade 8/9. If you are not happy with an item. Returns are fine but the buyer pays shipping. The reels I sell are 98% used. And in between 20& 100 years old. Most are far from perfect, so I some times use the Orca grading system, the first no. is how it looks and the second how it works. A 5/5 would be for parts and a 10/10 would be new. There is a little light scuffing on the reel seat having been mounted on a rod I guess. I do not think it was ever used. I just bought it to sit in a cabinet to look at. This reel was made in France. Everything works proper on this reel. The handle turns very easily and is very smooth. The anti-reverse works great with a nice clicking sound. Gem!! '76 Midnight Blue Garcia Mitchell 408/Box. Ultra Light Spinning Reel
Serial# F117104( a 1976 production. This reel is slightly used as some rod marks on the reel foot show. But other than this the reel looks and operates like new. The Garcia Mitchell 408 ultra light spinning reel is a gem to own for fishing or collecting. I fish with these reels whenever I can. They operate as smooth as silk and are great fun to use. Many can't stand modern productions after using these! The planamatic gearing system lays the line on in a great fashion inside the spool for great casting and easy fishing. Generally 2-6 lb. test line is used with these reels. My favorite is 4 lb. test. I have seen optimistic anglers fish for Pacific Bonito with these reels and catch the fish after quite a battle. I use them primarily for trout in streams, or various panfish in lakes and ponds. Largemouth or smallmouth bass are also great ... morefun to catch with this model.
