Lamson 3 reel, 9-foot, 4-piece graphite pack rod, Wave case - complete outfit
This is a barely used Lamson 3 reel with a 9-foot. 4-piece pack rod and a Wave case. I bought this outfit for back-country trips chasing steelhead and salmon in Upstate New York and Ontario, Canada, and for hike-in trips for trout out west. It was used for less than 10 trips. I tucked the outfit in a closet last time I used it, about 15 years ago, and just discovered it while cleaning things out for a cross-country move. The reel seems smooth and was stored with the drag at the lowest setting. The graphite pack rod doesn't have any markings, but as I recall it is a 6-7 weight and came from either Cabelas, LL Bean, or Orvis. It has a good action, casts like a 6-7 weight, and while I would recommend replacing the line, it seems like it would still be usable. In addition to the hike-in fishing I bought it for, it feels like it would be a ... moregreat all-around rod for anything from panfish, smallmouth and largemouth bass, on up to big-stream brown trout and striped bass. This is a vintatage fly reel in excellent condition.I received it used 20+ years ago and never used it.It comes with the box.Parts list,dressed floating line which is tapered, and the pamplet which describes the line,but does not give the size or weight.I did find a few pitted spots on the rear pillars(the round crome dowels holding the frame together) and rubbed them off with emery cloth.The reel is described as a heavy duty model designed for salmon, steelhead,bonefish,tarpon,ect.Large line capacity.Reinforced spool and back plate,large adjustable drag for extra braking capacity.Duel clicks,adjusable weight,and stainless steel line guard.
