Shimano Bantam Black Magnum 201FS Casting Reel Here is a quality Shimano Bantam 201 FS(Fightin' Star) left hand wind level-wind casting reel. The reel has light wear and the labels are very nice for a Black Magnum model. With only slight rubs. Cranks very smoothly and all mechanical functions work well. Loads of features including the Fightin' Star drag. Flipping switch, and magnetic cast control. Comes with it's original box including inserts, parts diagram(no manual) warranty card, parts tube, and oiler. The box inserts have a couple of tears and someone has written some Beastmaster rod info on the inside of the box flap. According to Phil White's excellent reference book- Shimano Bantams: The First 15 Years(available at oldreels.com) the Black Magnum 201 FS was only catalogued between 1988-90. It has been recently cleaned and serviced by a quality reel repair and maintenance department of a great tackle shop. Fresh new ten pound test(110 yards) of premium monofilament line has also been added to this pre-owned reel. Nice used condition Shimano Bantam 350sg XHS Mag Plus Reel in Original Box with Papers and accessories as seen in pics. The reel has been used and there is some minor finish wear but cosmetically it is still VERY nice as seen in the pictures. Please refer to pictures for physical appearance. I have posted a lot of pics. Mechanically it seems to be in fine condition, this reel has set for many years so if you are going to fish with it I recommend fresh lubrication. There is no apparent evidence of much mechanical wear. Box shows some shelf wear but is all intact with a split in part of the bottom as seen in the pictures. This is a nice used/restored Shimano Bantam Mag Plus BMP 251XSG. standard black frame,Gold setplate) It comes from my"Reel Rescue" program which can be found on my website www.timelessshimano.net. This reel functions as new and may not have been fished. After taking apart. Factory lube was still intact. No wear to any parts noted. There is no paint loss or missing lettering. RH sideplate has some fine scratches that may not have shown up in photo's. I would say that this is more of a collectable reel than one used for fishing in the field, just my opinion though. Most reels actually turn out much better than new and function as such. All reels that have had their bronze bushings removed are fitted with either ABEC 5's or 7's(VXB ceramic ... morehybrid or SS equivalent) All work done to my reels is described on my site in detail including many pics. All my reels receive the same treatment. I do not take pictures of every single one as I do as many as 5 reels per week. Since all the restoration is the same, several pictures should give you a better understanding, but there are plenty to look at. I am not too sure if there is a market for my reels as I rarely sell them and they are not cheap to build. My collection is huge and I must make some room for some new acquirements. Take a look around, see if there is anything you like and please understand that in most reels, high performance VXB bearings are used. They are not cheap as I do not use any inferior products in/on any of my reels. They are priced accordingly. If a box and accessories are included. They will be mentioned in the Title of item.
