The only offerings in their 1978 catalog were the Bantam 100 and the Bantam 100EX. In 1979 Shimano followed up with larger versions of the original Bantam 100. For bid I have a very nice Shimano Bantam 100 in the box with oil tube. Parts tube with extra parts& instruction manual. The box is not in great shape but not in real bad shape, faded with one corner torn about an inch. The reel is very lightly used with only a couple light marks on the right side end cap& one very light scuff on the left side end cap that is barely noticeable. Upgraded and VERY nice Shimano Bantam Citica CI-201. This reel has a curado 201b spool and a bearing in the palming sideplate to bring the total bearing count to 4. Performance wise you'd never feel the difference from a curado 201B5. But you're not likely to find one of those this nice. 5:1 gears are still silky smooth and the drag works with no shudder or locking. Which is typical of these if they've set out in heat locked or have debris/oil in the washers. No worries with this one!
