This is a medium. Vintage fishing creel with a canvas strap and decorative leather. It is 13" across the front, 11" by 5 1/2" across the lid and 8" tall in the back. The condition is very good for the bottom, there is broken weave on the top and the leather hinge is worn. The front catch was also changed and is not all original. Up for bid is one vintage OCEAN CITY- FREE SPOOL" German Silver& Bakelite Salt Water Reel. It has a strong clicker controlled by a slide button on the back plate. It has a lever handle to disengage the handle for free spin of spool. It has a knurled knob at each end of the axle with a star spring at one end. It has a 2:1 gear ratio. It measures 3-1/2" diameter. 3-1/2" deep not counting the handle(missing) and has a 2-13/16" long by 11/16" wide foot. The foot has"300" inscribed on the bottom. The reel appears to be in good working condition except for the handle is missing. I did note an indentation in the bakelite where there are two screws near each other on the back plate. I turned off the flash on one picture to capture this. There is no crack on the surface, but it appears there may be below the ... moresurface. On the handle side it is inscribed with"OCEAN CITY, FREE SPOOL" and"GERMAN SILVER, STEEL PIVOT" The German Silver has some staining on the face. It weighs 1 pound 2.2 ounces. You are bidding on a vintage Penn No. 78 fishing reel. I'm not an expert but I believe it is for Saltwater fishing. The two sides are made of bakelite and it has a red handle. It looks to be in great condition. Just needs cleaned a bit. The mechanisms seem to work fine. There is still blue line attached to this reel.
