This item was produced during the 1920's when Winchester Repeating Arms produced hardware ... moreand sporting goods for sale in their line of hardware stores known as Winchester Stores. This was the largest tackle box in the Winchester line with two removable trays, both of which are included with box. This is pretty unusual as many trays are lost, especially the small one in the lower compartment. The Winchester trade mark is painted inside the top lid. Condition is really very good considering the age and how the piece was used in life. There are the usual dents and scratches from usage, light surface corrosion(but no holes or feathering of the tin material) paint wear. Owner's initials painted on the front. But the original green paint is mostly intact as well as the interior black Japaning. Latches still work and the wooden handle weathered but intact. A picture of the box's listing on page 184 in the 1926/27 Winchester Store catalog is shown. Reserve price on this item is $300. I am selling portions of a Winchester collection from a well respected and long time collector in eastern Oklahoma. Unless noted the items listed are original and not restored. Not reprints. Selling a vintage USA made Saltwater Shakespeare Reel 2081 Model EC. I'm not a grader of reels but would guess this would be in very good condition. Everything operates well but I'm sure it would be even better if cleaned and oiled on the inside. I'm not qualified to go there. All I've done is wiped the dust off the outside. These are vintage Zebco reels I do believe they are late 70's on the 33. 202, 404. Other not sure about. I have had these in bottom of my tackle box for many many years. Any person that grew up in the 70's and fished had at least one of these reels they are classics. All function as should. I tested them all they all cast and reel in with no problems. They do need a good cleaning and string needs replaced. I'm just throwing the Johnson in because I will never use it. It works as well. These are sold as is. Buyer responsible for all shipping cost. Coxe designed and built big game reel made by Joe Coxe in Los Angeles California. This extremely well made big game reel was the finest in its day. The Abercrombie& Fitch catalog sold both Edward and Julius Vom Hofe reels along with Coxe reels in their 1930 salt water fishing catalog and the prices were as follows: Julius Vom Hofe 9/0 reel- $ 95.00 Edward Vom Hofe 9/0 reel- $ 95.00 J. A. Coxe 9/0 reel- $15 0.00 The price of the Coxe reel not only reflected its high quality but also is the reason you just don't see many of them around today. They were built far stronger then the Vom Hofe reels and the gearing is far superior. This nice example is in very good+ condition. The reel has aged nicely and has a warm ... morepatina. The foot has been bent so that the reel sits up higher on the rod. One has tags still on it the other does not. Both rods are in good condition with minor signs of wear. One rod measures 57" base to tip and the other measures 53.5" base to tip.
