Vintage Heddon Wood Weedless Wizard/Widow Intro-220 Fishing Lure-Green Scale-Coming With No Eyes& The 1-Hook Configuration For your consideration is a 1920s Heddon Weedless Wizard/Widow Intro 220 Fishing Lure-Green Scale-Coming With No Eyes& The 1-Hook Configuration The Heddon Weedless Widow(first called Weedless Wizard) came with six colors when they were introduced in 1928-this is one of the original six colors. Coming in the Green Scale with Yellow Belly design Heddon made the Wood Weedless Widows starting in 1928 running through 1948-this is an very early one that has no belly treble hook(only a single rear hook) No eyes, a metal front leader and no belly markings-Heddon started using the belly hooks on these in 1930- this is no doubt one of Heddon's so-called"Intro" lures as it has few of the later features when ... morethey changed the name to"Weedless Widow" The lure is in used condition and measures a little over about 2 1/2 inches. Excluding any hardware As previously noted. There are no markings on the lure's wood belly. The lure has the two wire prongs that were designed to protect the rear hook from snagging-as noted earlier. There is also a metal leader attached to the front line tie The lure shows some nice wood age lines. With some crazing and some pointers/nicks-the front has a scuff/exposed wood on the right side(see picture 6)the green-scale finish really looks nice on this one The hooks/hardware are intact with some oxidation noted. But nothing out of the ordinary Expect a wood lure that shows it is an older lure.
