1941 PENN SEA GATE--MODEL 125--CONVENTIONAL FISHING REEL--250 YARD--CLEAN
Offered in this listing is a 1941 Penn Sea Gate. Model 125-250 yard reel. These reels were made for a few years prior to WW II mostly for commercial account. They were basically a Long Beach with a plastic spool, wood handle knob and tumbled rather than polished chrome. These reels were made to save the commercial buyer a little bit off the price of a standard Long Beach. The reel in this listing has been taken down. All internal parts were checked. All parts in this reel are original. The reel was then lubed, assembled and adjusted. It runs very true, smooth, fast and strong. The drags are good. The clicker is a bit weak but changing this out would ruin the collector value of the reel. The clicker button on most Sea Gate models are a hexagon shape. This was purposely done to help the commercial reel rental piers or party boats collect their ... moretackle at the end of the day. The hexagon shape of the clicker button gave the mate collecting the tackle something to look for that was different from other reels. There are no Penn part numbers on any of the parts on this reel. That is also vintage correct for this vintage reel. Cosmetically this reel has minor spotting on the chrome but the reel is very presentable. It is not a heavily used reel. These models were generally very abused. This one is not. The handle knob is a wood knob, which is correct for this model. In the 1940's, wood was considered the low end product when compared to Catalin Plastic. Today the reverse would be true. Please see the pictures and have fun bidding.

The wood is solid throughout.It has wear, scratches and some dings. The net material looks good still appears to be good condition may have some separated strings/larger openings. I really don't see any though, still appears to be solid. Some minor fraying in spots.

Offered in this listing is a classic Pflueger Templar 1419 3/4 model. it is in very nice condition with some minor chrome spotting as the major cosmetic drawback. The reel functions totally normal with all features operating as they should. It operates very smooth. This reel is a 1936 model made of chrome plated German Silver with hard rubber side plates. I will include a paper copy of the scan from the 1936 William Mills catalog for the winner of this auction. Please see the pictures.
