Vintage Fishing Lure– Flopy– Must have for any collector! Produced in France from the 1950s until the late 1970s. Made from natural rubber. The Flopy had an interesting and valuable feature in that the angle of the bib was adjustable on all models. To adjust. The bib was pulled out, the position changed, and then the bib was pushed back in again to lock it in place. With the bib forward it caught more water and so dived deeper when retrieved. 3 Vintage Pike Musky lures handmade (?) plug Pflueger Mustang & 9" perch darter
Up for auction are a recent estate find. There are 3 lures of a size that would make me believe that they are for pike or musky fishing. Although they would also catch largemouth bass First is a handmade torpedo lure with a front spinner that is weighted( see pictures) about 6" long and green to a yellowish belly with silver spots. Next is a 9" long surface swimmer or darter that may be handmade( I see no identification on the lure) It is nicely painted like a perch with carved mouth painted eyes. Flat bottom and metal tail fins. Very nice condition, I would call it excellent used condition. Last is a 6" long Pflueger Mustang with a couple of small paint chips( hook pointers) Lure is in black with a yellowish belly and red throat. LURE CONDITION: Measures aprox. 3-1/2" long. This one is dated as being made sometime between 1915 to 1934 based on the L-Rig hook hardware used. Note this ... moreone has the L-Rig near the collar but the tail hook is mounted using the screw eye and small washer method. The one-piece short Stolley loop was not used on this particular version. Lure is in pretty good shape considering the age. Note this has scattered varnish loss as seen by the whiter specks. This does NOT have a lot of nicks or impressions. There's scattered soiling throughout along with some raised soil specks near the tail. NO large hooks nicks found. The double hooks are tarnished as is the dive lip collar! The last photo above shows you some of the other lures in the series( but this listing is for one lure only) Jim Pfeffer and his wife Betty began making lures in the 1920's in Orlando. FL. He applied for a patent for his"Banana Bait" in 1930. These tribute lures are made using vintage yard sticks. Leaving some of the original graphics to decorate the lure. In this case, the yard stick was painted yellow, so it well for a Banana Bait. Because the original Pfeffer lure was wider, there is a piece of basswood laminated between two yard stick pieces. Fred's first commercially produced lure, was trademarked in 1932. Fred described this metal minnow as"the most natural cripple ever made. His fishing friends thought so, too. Demand for the lure grew so quickly that he started his own fishing lure company. Vintage Wotta-frog Paw Paw Junior Wood Fishing Lure. The lure is in fairly good condition. Has a tiny amount of rust on the metal lip, has 4 spots where the paint may have gotten too hot in the sun and clumped/wore off. One spot is next to one of his eyes, the hump on his back, top of one leg and the back of one of his legs. Also has a small paint chip to the side of one of his eyes. Excellent wood body and splatter paint finish. Looks great excluding the few flaws mentioned. I can imagine this lure only being used a few times considering its excellent condition. This auction is for two wooden fishing lure. Both Shakespeare made of wood. First one white with red head and second is dark grey with red under chin. Both have two treble hooks. and tails attached. both Measures just over 2 1/4 inches for the wood piece. I am unsure of the year manufactured.
