Collectible Rare Fishing Rods/ Carrying Tube: Fishing rods: 1. Appears to be made of split bamboo in an octagonal shape. The rod stands 6" tall and it belonged to my uncle who moved to California in the early 50's and I'm pretty sure he brought it with him from Minnesota so it's old! Viking's fan! The rod is missing the end eyelet and the collar that the front tip slides into has a small split in it. It also releases from the glued in end-not the intended slide male/female slot. A drop of epoxy can fix this. However I do not want to mess with things as I know collectors love untouched items. It's rather"stout" as today's standards go, and there are signs of surface wear, but it is really beautiful as I could tell once I put a little water with mild soap on it to prepare for the pictures. Perhaps a coat ... moreof varnish or? would keep it shiny for display purposes. I will break it down and send it in an aluminum fly-rod tube made by? but purchased from Sport Chalet in 1994. 2. ALSO! Handle still wrapped in original plastic. Spinning rod. Appears new. Rod#2: Model: SPL 11662M 6'6" Medium Action. 6-15 lb. line. All the guides are intact. The fore grip spins off of the threads if you twist too far upward, does not affect the fishability of the rod. 2 piece spinning rod. Appears new. Please note that these rods are sold AS IS. I have done the best that I can to describe them. There are some scratches/scuffs here and there on the rods from shipping. Handling, etc. Nothing major. I tested all of the reel seats and all are working. Also, I ship these rods in 4" PVC pipe in order to minimize the risk of damage.
