Antique Horrocks-Ibbotson fishing rod RARE 4 piece 2 rods in one
You are bidding on a rare Horrocks-Ibbotson fishing rod. This rod has the diamond with the UTK logo stamped into the reel seat which dates it from 1905 to World War 1. H-I made hundreds of rods. I can not find any info on this 4 piece unit which is actually 2 rods in 1 It consists of 4 pieces approx 30 inches long. The first is a wooden handle painted black which is fading and a silver reel seat. The second piece fits into the first piece. This piece which also is a tip fits into the first piece making a rod approx 58 inches long. The third piece fits into the second piece and the fourth piece fits into the third piece making a rod approx 86 inche long. This unit( 2 rods) is in fine condition.I do not know what kind of wood it is made of but it has no cracks or breaks. This lot contains 25 broken saltwater fishing rods which were to Bass Pro Shops. The pictures are 2 different parts of the lot. Pictures#1-7 are of the first 13 rods. Pictures#8-12 are for the other 12 rods. All of these rods are damaged/broken and sold as is. There are very nice guides and handles on many of these rods. There are quite a few nice handles, and some rods that could simply be retipped and fished with. There are boat rods, surf rods, spinning, and casting rods. Quite a few of the rods are Offshore Angler brand, there are some Penn, Ugly Stik, and some others. This lot contains 6 Bass Pro Shops Mega Cast baitcasting fishing rods which were returns or damaged in shipping to Bass Pro Shops. Most of these rods need minor repair ard are sold as is. Please look at the pictures and ask questions if necessary. I will do my best to describe the condition of the rods. Rod#1: Model: MCX661MHT 10-20 lb. line 3/8-1 oz. lure. Rod is in like new condition. Handle still wrapped in plastic. All guides are intact. Rod#2: Model: MCX661MHT 10-20 lb. line 3/8-1 oz. lure. Rod has been lightly used if at all. All guides are intact. This is the one that is missing the butt cap. It also appears that the cork handle broke right around the middle. Someone glued it back together and filled it with cork filler. It's actually fixed well. Rod#3: Model: MCX601MT 8-17 lb. line 1/4-5/8 lure. Handle is still wrapped in plastic. ... moreRod is in excellent condition and appears unused. All guides are intact. Rod#4: Model: MCX661MT 10-20 lb. line 3/8-1 lure. Rod is like new. Still wrapped in plastic. The 3rd guide from the tip is not in line with the rest of the guides and should probably be retied. Rod#5: Model: MCX601MT 8-17 lb. line 1/4-5/8 oz. lure. The blank is in excellent condition. But the fore grip is in rough shape and needs some love(see photos) All guides are intact. Rod#6: Model: MCX661MHT 10-20 lb. line 3/8-1 lure. This rod is missing the insert on the bottom guide. The handle is like new. But the blank has a lot of scratches on it. Please note that these rods are sold AS IS. I have done the best that I can to describe them. There are a couple of small scuffs/scratches from handling on the ones that I describe a like new. I ship these rods in 4" PVC pipe in order to minimize the risk of damage. These pipes cost 8 bucks apiece. Plus shipping, so the $19 I am charging for shipping is about 10 bucks short of my cost. This is a pair of rather old steel fishing rods in used condition. Both cork handles look in good used condition with normal age wear. They are: one piece marked'GEP Actionized' and is 5 feet long. It has a glass eyelet on the tip and the rest are metal. It has a 1925 patent date on it. Some of the brown paint over the steel shows wear. two piece rod is marked'Tiger Tackle' and two of the three glass eyelets are broken. It is 54" long. OLD FISHING ROD VINTAGE WOOD HANDLE CORK BOBBER CORK FLOATER METAL LURE OLD RODS
Here is a old fishing rod with line. Cork bobber and lure still on it. This old fishing rod is as found and not been cleaned. The fishing rod is about 3 feet 8 1/4 inches long. The old wood handle has a Black Rubber ring on it that I'm not sure what it's for that slides back and forth. The line has a very tiny metal lure on it and a old cork bobber or cork floater on it also. The vintage cork floater is only about 1/2" long by 3/8" diameter with three Red stripes around the cork and a small piece of wood on each end. All the eye ties(4) appear to be made of Brass. One of the eye ties is slightly bent but should bend back fine. Neat old wooden handle rod and pretty sure it's older. Very nice older rod for the collector. Here is a old steel fishing rod that I would guess is a rare fishing rod that is marked. Not sure of the date made but sure it's a old rod and not sure if it's a heddon rod or not? I'm sure the old rod collector will know more about it. The old fishing rod is a steel rod with a old cork handle. The handle on the rod is marked Great Lakes Products. DETROIT, MICH. where the old reel would go. This old Steel fishing rod is a short 3 feet 8 inches and a unknown fishing rod to me. Not sure if it's a old Ice fishing rod or a vintage childs rod. Here is a old steel fishing rod that is cool. The eyes on this old square steel rod are Red Glass inside Brass looking rings on the two middle eyes. The old steel Rod is stamped VINCE-NEW YORK on one side of the steel and MADE IN FRANCE with a 5 stamped on the end near the handle. The old steel rod is quite heavy and about 4 feet 8 inches long. The old steel rod is square and needs a good cleaning and will leave that to the bidder. Don't know much about cleaning older rods. Unknown old fishing rod but I think it's called a Boat Rod? The back part of the wooden handle is a long 12 3/4" and the front wood part is about 3 1/2" long. The vintage square steel rod shows well and the wood handle is in good used condition.
