GULF OIL 2 OZ. LEAD TOP HANDY OILER METAL CAN LIGHTER FLUID / SPOT REMOVER
This 2 oz can is in excellent condition. No dents or scrapes or scratches. I does have min or wear from sitting around on various shelves for the past 60+ years both in a gas station and in someones collection. There are no thumb dents as there are in most old handy oilers. This is a unique can in that one side reads LIGHTER FLUID and the other side reads SPOT REMOVER. The same product in the can did double duty. Can is empty. Lead top in tact and is removable and not rusted in place. Can stands 3 1/2" tall including top.

D'Anville's map covers from Sabine Pass(Cabo del Norte) Texas, past the Mississippi River Delta, Mobile Bay, and Pensacola Bay, to Saint Joseph Bay(Baye de St. Joseph) and Cabo Escondido(Cape San Blas) Florida. The map extends northwards along the Mississippi River as far as, roughly, Lake Providence, and northwards along the Alabama River(Riviere des Alibamons) as far as Fort Toulouse(modern day Wetumpka, Alabama) An inset in the upper right quadrant focuses on the upper Mississippi River Valley and includes much ... moreof the lower Missouri River as far as the Kansas River(Kansaz) The map offers minimal topography, as little was known, but does follow the river courses, including the lower Mississippi, the Red, the Osage, and the lower Missouri, in some detail and presents numerous depth soundings along the Gulf Coast and in the adjacent Bays. Cartographically much of the coastal information presented here is derived from manuscript work compiled by French Royal Engineer Valentin Devin between 1720 and 1732. Devin's work was incorporated into this map, as well as into others by competing French cartographers Philippe Buache, Nicholas Bellin, and Guillaume De L'Isle. Another Royal Engineer, Ignace Francois Broutin, is responsible for much of the inland cartography, particularly around Natchitoches and Natchez. Historically speaking, D'Anville drew this map following the 1730 French siege and subsequent destruction of the Grand Village of Natchez. Description: The extremely scarce first edition first state of Bellin's important 1744 map of the Gulf Coast from New Orleans past Mobile Bay. As far east as Apalachicola Bay and the St. Marks River. Though still quite speculative, Bellin's rendition of this little known coastline was, at the time, among the best available. The cartographer charts the course of the Mississippi River with some care nothing both the'Detour des Piaquemines' and the English Turn or'Detour a L'Anglois' Most of the delta ... moreis represented a ffertile grassland, but some forested regions suitable for European settlement are noted near the Abandoned French Fort de la Boulaye. Following the map eastward along the coastline Bellin offers details as they were available. The site of various battles and massacres are identified as are American Indian villages, mission stations, fortifications, and European entrapots such as Biloxi, Mobile, St. Marc, and indeed New Orleans itself. A Spanish settlement is noted near the Apalachicola River and St. Joseph Bay(Baye St. Joseph) a clear reminder that much of this territory, though claimed by various European powers and American Indian nations, remained very much up for grabs. 1951 GULF OIL PETROLEUM GAS STATION CALENDAR SIGN Prev Stop Play Next UP FOR BID IS A VERY NICE 1951 GULF PETROLEUM CALENDAR. THE CALENDAR READS FIFTY YEARS OF SERVICE. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS CALENDAR HAS EVER BEEN HUNG UP. IT IS STILL IN IT'S ORIGINAL WRAPPER. THERE IS A TINY TEAR AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF ONE OF THE PAGES. THE OUTER EDGES ARE A LITTLE RUFFLED IN SPOTS. THERE MAY BE MORE BUT I DID NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH EACH PAGE DUE TO AGE AND THE PAPER IS THIN ON THE EDGES. THAT IS WHY I ONLY TOOK PICTURES OF THE FRONT PAGE. I CAN TELL YOU THOUGH THIS CALENDAR IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. THE COLORS ARE AS VIVID TODAY AS THEY WERE BACK IN 1951. THERE IS NO STAINS OR MARKS. THE CALENDAR MEASURES 18" WIDE AND 26" LONG. PLEASE LOOK CLOSE AT WHAT PHOTOS I DID TAKE AND THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY.
