This listing is for a very nice. Near perfect large Tamarack Twig Goose Decoy from Ontario, Canada. The decoy is made entirely out of the Tamarack Twigs which belongs to the Pine family. The twigs fall naturally around November so it is a seasonal material that has to be used in late fall or collected in the fall and saved for a later date. The decoys were originally designed by the Cree Aboriginals and the Hunters would place them on the Snow. When seen against the Snow the"eye" mimics the White cheek patch of the Canadian Goose. The current decoys are from Moose Factory on James Bay and are the revival of a centuries old tradition. In 1974 The Royal Ontario Museum held an Indian Art Show and each artist was ask to create an art form to the best of their ability. This close to 32 x 44 1/2 inches and is on crisp. Heavier weight paper. It was published by the Canadian Hydrographic Service, Minister of Supply and Services, Canada, 1981. There are no edge or fold line tears and the only negative I can see is a small spot of discoloration showing just to the right of the center fold line, in the middle. Thanks for taking a look.

Y. the town near Rochester NY which was later incorporated into Rochester and is now a neighborhood name, not the town in western New York) Although the card does not bear a publication date, the yellow front, blank white back, flat 4.25 x 7 inch card stock, with rounded corners, identify it as having been produced between 1868-1882. In addition. At the right side of the picture on the left, you can see the front of the front of the Hotel Ontario which was built in 1882.
