Oregon We present for your consideration this vintage collectible color print that was part of a 1947 Standard of California promotional program to attract travelers to stop in at Standard or Chevron stations and garages. Featured in this print is the Silver Creek Falls State Park in Oregon. The image was brilliantly captured by photographer Ray Atkeson. The print itself measures approximately 11-1/4" x 8-3/4" and sits on a page that is about 14" x 11" On the reverse side is an article about the South Silver Creek Falls. Written by Robert Ormond Case. This 65-year-old print is in VERY GOOD condition. It has a bit of oxidation-a natural consequence of aging paper-along with some scuffing in the margins. Map has a few wrinkles along the edge and 4 small, under 1/2" tears along the top edge and some discoloration running along the left edge. 1936 Beaver Oregon State College University yearbook annual OSU
Here is a 1936 yearbook annual from Oregon State College. Which is now called Oregon State University, OSU. It is located in Corvallis Oregon. On the hardback cover it has"the volume 30 beaver, then a picture of a logger. OSU are still called the"Beavers" On the edge of the book, 3rd picture it has"the bearer 1936" then"volume 30 Oregon state college" Only real damage on this book is pictured in#2, 10& 12 pictures for you. The picture of the logger is all very good though, just the 3 edges where it has lots of wear. Inside this yearbook I only find two places with writing, one just on the inside in pencil a price when resold, then see#6 picture for the signature of a lady which looks like it is in pencil. The pages are all in very good condition& I did not find any torn or folded pages. Great vintage ... moreyearbook from 1936 also very heavy. It is almost a 5 pound book, and about 12 1/4" by 1 1/4" by 9 1/4" in size. Please check out my other auctions as I can combine shipping& handle. However, only media mail can be combined with books. Hillsboro High Oregon letterman jacket music emblems graduation tassel 1948
This auction is for music emblems that one would wear on a letterman's jacket. And a graduation tassel. The emblem and tassel are in good condition overall as far as I can tell. The emblem may be yellowing very slightly, and it was in a scrapbook, so there are remnants of scrapbook page adhering to the back of it. The fabric backing is tan, and the stitching appears to be in good condition. The white part of the emblem is a woolen-type fabric, and the lyre and the H are short blue pile, perhaps a wool-type fabric. The emblem in picture 4 has not been in a scrapbook, so the back of the emblem is pristine in appearance, at least to my non-professional eye. The tassel dates from 1948 or 1949, and the letterman jacket emblem should be approximately from the same general period. They were from a Hillsboro, Oregon, high school student. The ... morestudent body handbook, Sparta Speaks, has a student name and date written in the front, and is dated 1947-48. Exterior blue covers are lightly soiled, light corner and edge wear, pages lightly foxed. Top right corner has been lightly creased/bent, and it affects all the pages, though not their readability. Pages in the back part of the book have the upper right corner dog-earred over. The handbook gives instructions for everything from where to eat your lunch, how to reach another student, etiquette and expectations, and has a photo of Hillsboro Union High School in the front. This card is in very good condition for its age. The heavy textured paper on the outside has stood time very well. And an owl roosts on the face of the card. It was assembled with a blue ribbon. Page one has a light crease at top right corner, and a bend at lower right corner. Page two gives the details of the ceremony, and has a wonderful graphic of a graduate driving a donkey to a two-wheeled cart, titled"jog on. It is utterly correct in harness and carriage details, as well as very modern looking. Graduation was held at the Dundee Community Hall.and there were four graduates! Nice early 1970's vintage silkscreen proofsheet for Oregon Trail Council Camp Staff. This was silkscreened on what appears to be card stock. There was a fold across the middle and on this particular proofsheet. But has been stored flat for the last 40 years. This is as bright as the day it was printed. Your proofsheet will not have the words across the top of the image. I did that to prevent unauthorized copying. Great for a display or historical piece. 1892 Victorian Trade Card. Pfunder's Oregon Blood Purifier. William Pfunder Drug Company Portland Oregon Description: A very rare 1892 pictogram Victorian trade card measuring approximately 4.25" X 2.75" advertising Pfunder's Oregon Blood Purifier. Pfunder's usual trademark for this medicine featured a baby face which was featured on bottles containing this elixar. Bottles for Pfunder's tonics are somewhat common but Trade Cards for his products are scarce. We have never come across this particular pictogram card advertising the Oregon Blood Purifier before. And were entranced by the lovely quality of the lithographed colors. The delicate line work cleverly spells out a message: A vase goes often to the well and breaks at last" This card was associated with Pfunder's Exhibit in 1892. This blood purifying ... moretonic was formulated by William Pfunder. A chemist and druggist who founded one of the oldest, and most successful drug companies in early Oregon history, the William Pfunder Drug Company. In 1879 Pfunder succeeded in compounding his own medicines including the well known Oregon Blood Purifier. His company operated in Portland from the late 1870s through the turn of the 20th century and produced a variety of pills. Remedies and supplements. His blood purifier was reputed to cure a myriad of diseases and conditions, like many of the wildly popular tonics and palatives of Victorian society(many of which were utterly useless and sometimes highly dangerous) Condition: Colors remain very bright and we would describe condition as very good overall with some very light soiling. As the card has been removed from an antique album. There are very minor areas of warping, and a few small areas on the back of the card where paper loss has occured. Thornton(January 28. 1910– November 29, 2003) was an attorney, politician, and jurist in the U.S. state of Oregon.2] A Democrat, he was the second-longest serving Oregon Attorney General in the state's history, holding that office from 1953 to 1969. His 16-year tenure was second only to Republican Isaac Homer Van Winkle, who bested him by seven years, serving from 1920 to 1943.3] Thornton was the Democratic nominee for Oregon Governor in 1962, losing in the general election to incumbent Mark Hatfield.4] His ultimate defeat by Republican Lee Johnson, who garnered some 80,000 more votes than Thornton in the 1968 general election, became a matter for the courts.
