Up for auction is this. Spanish American War Commemorative candy/condiment piece, measuring approx. 6 1/4" long and 4" to the top of the smokestacks. This was manufactured around the 1890's when milk glass was in its hay-dey. When held to the light, this milk glass dish has a fiery opalescence around its edges. The detail of the mold is deep and crisp.This dish is from an estate sale of a 96 year old women. The only damage or flaw on the ship I have shown in the pictures. I did not notice the small chip at first as it is not very noticeable without being pointed out. These were made in clear glass as well, but I am told the milk glass were the more valuable ones. This is my personal 1950's original Oregon Ducks screen-printed tennis racket cover(to be clear, I attended U of O in the 1970's but found this in an antique store in Eugene at the time) When my brother-in-law(vice president of the USPTA at the time) arranged for African-American tennis legend Arthur Ashe to give teaching seminars to the pros and members of Courtside Club in Los Gatos, Ca. in the early to mid 1980's, I chose this great and rare and very personal artifact to have him sign. It is now time for it to find a new home, hopefully yours. Mr. Ashe was gone from this world(quite prematurely) not long after our meeting, and consequently signed relatively few items ... morein his career. Antique ABP American Brilliant Crystal Cut Glass Antique Bergen Oregon Cruet Pitcher w Stopper Description: American Brillian t Period cut glass cruet has a wavy rim and original facet cut stopper. Pitcher measures 4 inches tall to the rim and 5-3/4 inches in height overall including stopper. Rim measures 1-3/4 inches with and bottom is 4 inches in diameter. Bottom is decorated with a cut 24 point star pattern. Notched hex shaped neck is marked with an etched 35 near the upper handle attachment. Stopper is also marked with the number 35. Cut decor pattern is a combination of diamond shaped geometric stars and thumbprint circles with fan trimmings in between. Cruet is in good condition with no major flaws. There are some rough spots and a tiny chip on the rim and some chipping on the stopper bottom. There are some scratches on the bottom and ... moretiny chips around the sides from normal use. Please see pictures for best description. Glassware is unmarked but manufactured by J. D. Bergen. Pattern name is Oregon as shown on page 60 of Evert's Standard Cut Glass book.
