We were fortunate enough to acquire an extensive personal collection from an estate in Montgomery County, PA quite some time ago, and have greatly enjoyed perusing the cards ever since. Antique Huge Oval Wood Hat Rounded 3" Brim Mold sz 7 1/4 Fedora Panama Western
This is a wooden hat brim mold to make Fedora. Panama or Western style hats. This form is oval shaped with a carved indention on the inside just on one side. The brim has a rounded shape from top to base with a 1" flat edge and is 3" wide as marked. Fantastic find in great solid condition with a few age cracks, the size is marked 7 1/4. It is 13 5/8" long x 12 1/4" wide. This mold is quite heavy at 4 lbs. I will be listing many more items from this same estate in the months ahead. Please check back often for great vintage pieces. ANTIQUE MOLA TEXTILE QUILT KUNA TRIBE PANAMA INDIANS FOLK ART NATIVE RARE OLD
Vintage Mola Textile Beautiful handcrafted Mola textile art. This exceptional masterpiece was hand-stitched by a Kuna woman of the San Blas Islands. Which is located off the coast of Panama. This traditional Mola masterpiece depicts geometric designs accompanied by animals. The color motif is bright with a red background and it is in great vintage condition. This mola measures 18" inches x 14 and 3/4" inches approximately. Previously, the mola textile has been sewn into a pillow backing, since removed. The mola still has part of this black fabric border sewn around it. Molas are composed of several layers of cloth worked in a technique called reverse applique which is an embroidery technique that is used as well in quilting. It involves layering fabrics, and then cutting away at the top layers to reveal the ones underneath in unique ... morepatterns. This gives the mola dimension, color, shape and texture. Mola Art began approximately two hundred years ago when Kuna women began sewing designs representing their culture, mythology, native animals and plants. First there is a viewbook that is actually a pictorial review of the progress of construction up until March 15. 1913. Titled" Universal Exposition San Francisco 1915– Celebrating the Opening of the Panama Canal" This has heavy paper covers. 8" x 11 ½" and 56 pages of text and BW photographs of ground breaking ceremonies. Building designs, and people responsible for construction. Front cover is becoming loose and has some staining. Next is a ribbon badge from the" Printing Trades Day" This was held on Sept 16. 1915. Metal name tag and 5" yellow ribbon. Then there is a silk flower from the Japan Tea Pavilion at the Japanese Garden. Next is a lot of 6 small BW photos of various statues at the Expo. Antique Panama Pacific International Exposition Collapsable Tin Cup 1915 PPIE
A truly unique piece of Americana from the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition(PPIE) is this souvenir collapsible tin cup with a stamped picture of the Horticultural Building on the removable cap. The detail of the building and lettering is amazing. The cup is 1" tall and 2.25" in diameter when collapsed and 2.625" tall when extended. There is a handle t hat folds out of the cup when in use and the handle"snaps" into place to make it sturdy. When the cap is on the top is watertight. It's hard to believe that this cup is 98 years old.

Vintage Twin Large Lizard Design Panama Kuna Molas from Blouse(Set of 2 Front& Back) Made by the Kuna Indians who live near Panama. Molas are meticulously crafted hand sewn works of art. Originally on a blouse, these two molas are front and back, and the design of each differs slightly from the other(stitching around the perimeter of each mola is evidence they were once on a blouse) These vintage molas were purchased in the early 1970's by a military nurse stationed there at the time. Features twin large lizards/bird design and measures 17-1/4"W x 14"H. A very collectible item in excellent condition. A rare find! Colors are much more vibrant than the picture shows.
