It has two attachment pin hole and one still contains a square headed attachment nail. It does have some deterioration shown in photos but remains very nice in appearance in hand. ANTIQUE EEL FISHING SPEAR - 5 BLADES - 4 SERRATED
I would estimate this eel fishing spear to be from the 19th century. It is a unique in its design. The 3 center blades are serrated on both edges. One end blade is serrated on one edge and the other is not serrated. The piece measures approx. 19" long x 6 1/4" wide. It is heavy and may be wrought iron but I am not sure. There is a metal loop for a pole to be inserted. I have seen similar spears referred to a" British gleaves" but I am not sure of the difference. This is a unique antique that would be a nice addition to any collection or as a decorator piece. Considering its age it is in very good condition. Buyer pays S/H based on location. Vintage Used C & G Tackle "Lock Jaw" Fish Spear Fishing Line Chain Stringer
This vintage C& G Tackle Company Lock Jaw Fish Stringer is in excellent condition. I don't believe I've seen a nicer fish stringer and I used to work in a marina. It's so well made you could probably leave it to children. The rubber is complete and still pliable- although discolored as one would expect. The chain appears to be brass and is 56" long when the end is looped for hanging. It has 10"lock jaws" to hold fish.
