Antique Hand Forged Harpoon/Spear 69 inches Long
Up for auction is a very old antique harpoon or spear. The iron tip measures 9-1/4 inches long to where it attaches on the hard wood shaft and has a maximum width of 2 inches. I do not know the origin or exactly what it was used to hunt but do know it is incredibly old. The shaft of the harpoon has remnants of the hand woven basket grip. There is also an iron tip at one point on the base that measures 3-3/4 inches long. Please check out the photographs and thanks for looking. I also have another antique harpoon up for auction too.

There are cultural affinities between the Topoke and the Mongandu and Bambole peoples. Appropriate of age, origin and medium. Large forged blades in the shape of spearheads were well used into the middle of the 20th century as currency and during marriage ceremonies. They have many names: dihunga(for smaller versions) doa(for larger versions) Other names include Linganda and Ngbele. During marriage ceremonies up to 60 doa might be exchanged for the bride. These were specially shaped to look like spearheads but were too thin and long to serve as such. These unique currency forms were well worked and were often embellished with a number of parallel lines close to the edges. Note this large currency blade was acquired from the Brahima Wague Collection of Kansas City. The lower handle appears to be wrapped in copper and the upper above wooden ring with leather. The ring is of a dark wood that shows different designs on both surfaces.You can see the dimensions in the two scans with ruler.This is just one item of a rather old and large collection that will have postings from time to time. Producing more power and speed. This is the only surviving traditional culture on earth that still makes this type of weapon. However there are now Atlatl clubs that make them of modern materials and have spear-throwing competitions. The word Atlatl comes from the Aztec name for this type of weapon. I am the sole owner of this gun. I have taken it on two trips. And it has performed well. I recognize that Gil has stopped making guns, and that I may be letting go of a collector's item, but that's just not how my brain works. I am not using the gun these days, and would rather see it getting some action- while putting a few bills back in my pocket. This is not the So Cal version. It is a standard Tracker II. The total stock length is 55" 55.5" if you include the buttpad) It comes with two. 60" spears- both are 9/32" and both have seen action, but are in good shape. It also comes with three, 9/16" bands. One of the bands is a size longer than the other two for that longest shark tab. The gun does well with two bands, but if you need the extra umph, use the third. The bands are in 95% condition- no cracks ... morein the rubber. I stored them in a zip-lock bag, in a dry closet when not in use(that goes for the gun, as well) The gun has a few cosmetic blemishes- scuffs and nicks in the epoxy coating. The wood and enclosed track are all in good shape. And if you wanted to make it look new, you would only need to use some West epoxy and fill in where needed. It is currently rigged with two wraps of 300lb mono. But. That stuff is pretty kinked. So, I'll send along enough new line and crimps for you to make it like new. I accept Paypal only. The pattern was produced in three variations. One with an insect. One without an insect, and this pattern the Long Spear. The only pieces that were made with the insect were the Spooner, and Sugar. This piece is etched on three of the sides. It stands 9" tall, and measures 9" diameter including the spout and handle. It does have some light scratching, and a small mark under the spout, and on the handle. I believe these marks are popped air bubbles. These can be seen in the pictures. I am selling an 3pt to 2pt fasthitch compatible bale or pallet fork mover for the back of a tractor. the pallets could be up to 51" or the bale up to 60" wide. It is 47" wide outside to outside of the pallets. The prongs themselves are 3" thick, I just bought this at a sale to resell. As you can see in the photos this item is in good shape are ready to take home and use. I have NO idea who made it! It has 3 holes on the right side to use as part of a 3pt hitch and 1 hole on the left side and 4 holes on top for the top link. The 3pt piece then allows the 2 prongs"fasthitch" to slide into them and then be used, there are 2 bolts one on each side holding them in place. Unique Felt Zulu Warrior Doll Beaded Accents and Metal Spear-Signed
Up for your consideration is this Unique All Felt Body Authentic Zulu Warrior brought back from the Transvaal of South Africa. I wouldn't say that African male dolls are rare. But they are uncommon relative to the number of African female dolls produced, and the detail on this doll make him special. He measures 11" in height; he has black curly yarn for hair with a felt headband, there are green and orange feathers attached to the front of his headband; he wears a beaded necklace and also has beads on his waistband; he wears faux fur bands on his shoulders, wrists, and leggins; he also wears what appears to be some type of animal skin covering his privates; and he carries a metal spear in his right hand. As shown in the picture he has some moth damage to one foot, otherwise he is in good vintage condition. This is a No Reserve Auction.
