Lamiglas Surf & Jetty XS 11 MS 11' Fishing Rod
The rod is in overall very good condition. I have tried to highlight the cosmetic scratches and scuffs from it's normal use and most of those are from airline travel. The rod will be packed securely and shipped in a Flambeau Bazuka II Rod case. The case has a crushed end courtesy of the baggage handling gorillas at Frontier. This does not affect the integrity of the case however. The case is 74" and non-telescoping. Altogether this would be around $360.00 new so I am starting the auction at $100.00. Up for Auction is this Abu Garcia Cardinal 759 Deep Sea/ Surf fishing reel. I took the faceplate off to oil the gears inside and in doing so I snapped the head of one screw and I also snapped the button holding the handle in place. I went ahead and oiled the inside with the intention of fixing those 2 small parts. But the reel has just sat around so I figured it's time to sell it if I am not actively fixing it. It's 2 small parts that only add up to a couple bucks that would make this reel nice, but I have other reels. This is an antique baitcasting reel from the 1950s-1920s most likely. I can't find some preliminary hard facts as to when it was made. It does seem to be of a good quality though! So this one is kind of funny. It's a free spool reel. It has no drag system to fight the fish. There's nothing wrong with the reel, no missing switch or anything busted. I guess you only sought smaller fish at the beach and used your thumb for some pulling in. It's clearly had some use at the beach with the corrosion from the salt air/water. This is for a vintage South Bend Sure-Oreno White cedar fishing lure. Lure has been used and has some minor scuffs. Discoloring and cracks in the paint. The box is included but does not have a clear cover and on the end its marked#9638 not sure if that is the correct box for the lure. Overall in pretty good condition. Fishing Rod Building Wrapping Lathe Fly Rods, Spinning Surf Boat Casting Rods
This auction is for a Professional level Rod Builders Lathe and Power Wrapper. I don't know what make it is. There are no marks anywhere on it to indicate the maker. That being said I must emphasize that this is a very well made professional grade piece of equipment. The lathe chuck is adjustable and can be removed to allow different chuck or faceplate to be mounted. The motor runs smoothly and all parts function well. Please look closely, what you see is what you get. I don't know what all the parts do and if everything is complete. The second set of ways(with the thread tensioner) has two additional mounting attachment stanchions that appear to be missing something: most likely accessory components( perhaps additional thread tensioners for doing multiple color wraps or woven patterns) This machine is complete as far as having everything ... morenecessary to build all but the most complex wrapped rod. The overall length of each section is 48" long. Condition is good and works perfectly. There is a bit of surface rust on chuck( which works smoothly) and numerous drip spots of laquer on the lathe ways. You will need a new drive belt( a large"O" Ring works well. Tho motor runs real well but I don't know what the gearing speeds are since I have never used this machine. The Motor is a Dayton(Granger) and is marked 5000 rpm which seem a bit fast to me. You may want to gear this down or replace it with a slower motor. For shipping purposes I will dismantle it so it will fit in the smallest box possible to keep shipping cost down. Classic Atlantic Surf Casting Fishing Reel Hard Rubber End Plates Nickel Plated
Replace or restore the badly corroded spool on this reel and you have a nice vintage saltwater casting reel made by Montague. The hard rubber end plates are in very good condition. Mechanically this reel is very good. It has a strong on/off click button on the tail plate. Plus a friction drag button. The foot is marked"150" The counterbalanced handle has a bulbous woodedn knob. An interesting reel that needs help.
