The wrappings and eyes look good but do show some use wear. As I stated I believe the rod is made of bamboo.it is six sided and there is an area where a small amount of black finish has been rubbed off that appears to show wood underneath. There is a blue rubber tip at the end of the handle but it is deteriorating from age. This rod would made a great addition to a collection of vintage bamboo rods. Okuma Solaris Surf Fishing Rods-SS-C-1202MH-1 (Black, 12-Feet) SURF ROD CONVENTI
You are bidding on an Okuma Solaris SSC 1202 MH-1. 12 foot surf rod. This is a conventional rod NOT a Spinner. For a factory rod this one does a really great job. It is rated for 20 to 40 lb line but does well with 20# Suffix. Rated lure weight is 3-8 ounces but it hurls 6 and bait way on past the breakers. distance from the butt to the middle of the real seat is 29 inches. You can generate a lot of power and the rod loads really well for those really long casts. Great tip action as well. I would rate this a 9 out of 10 as far as cosmetics and functionality. I hate to part with it but I have far too many Rods that are custom made. I paid over 125.00 for this rod so hopefully you will get a deal. Hello. Unfortunately I have to let this Awesome Custom CTS Surf rod go. This is the Ferrari of Long distance Surf Fishing rods. I spared no expense when I had this rod made(over 700 dollars and 200 to have it rebuilt so over 900 total) I actually had it built once and did not like it so I sent it to another rod builder to have him rebuild it and it came out WONDERFUL the only thing is when it was rebuilt some of the guides were removed and re-spaced for ultimate distance and there was some paint loss(view photos) due to the color of the rod it is barely noticeable unless you are really close to the rod(6 inches? Does NOT effect anything! The rod is made with ALL Fuji lowrider distance guides And was built on the 13' 6" 4-8oz CTS S8 surf series rod blank. It also has x shrink wrap grips(super light weight) and a Perfection aluminum ... morereel seat which I LOVE! Extremely strong you never have to worry about this breaking. ONLY reason for the sale is because I just purchased a KAYAK and I need much much smaller rods. Two-piece Custom Surf Rod measures approx. 118 1/2" OAL when assembled, with 60" upper section slip-fitting into joint on the 62" lower section of course. The Black rubber"snub" butt on bottom of the 25" grip& reel seat section features black, EVA Foam grips of approx. 12" 6" with 5 1/2" anodized alloy reel seat in between. Reel seat has alloy reel foot"shoes" and opens to hold most any large Spin Reel foot up to about 3 1/2" OAL with twin locking rings below for secure hold. The Rod itself is composed of hollow, brown fiberglass of full 1" dia. above the foregrip and ... moretapering to approx. 1/8" dia. at tip. Shimano Trinidad 12 Conventional Fishing Reel You are bidding on a Shimano Trinidad 12 Fishing Reel. Its in very good cosmetic shape. Tail and head plate have some scratches but very good looking. Frame. Star and crank look very good pl us with very lite wear. Crank has a nice knob on it as well and the spool also in very good plus shape. A very good looking reel in all with some lite wear most to the plates as scratches. Some wear but in all and a ver y good looking reel. The super-sized and zoom-able photos show the reel quite well. This Shimano Trinidad 12 is in good working shape but sounds like the bearings can be changed. C ranks nicely with solid instant anti-reverse. Has a very good drag strong smooth and variable. With good clutch. Freespool works and spins well and even. But is a little noisy from the bearings. Could use as is but ... morea new set of bearings will quite the spool. The clicker and clicker switch work well and the clicker tension works as well. Lite wear and a very good looking reel in good working shape could use as is or replace the bearings for a quieter freespool. Heck when they built these things back in the day they built them last forever. These things are bomb prove and have caught tons of fish from huge drag screaming blues off the Jersey coat. Big rockfish in the Chesapeake bay or monster Muskies in the back wood lakes. This Penn 150 is in Very Good Working Shape and ready to fish. It cranks well with very good gears.
