3 Early Primitive Tinware Torches/ Smudge / Oil Lighting-Great for Re-Enactors
Offered for Auction: 3 Primitive Tinware Cone Shaped Torches. I believe the cones would fit onto a pole or stick and the cone would hold oil with a rope wick. However this is speculative as I cannot find another example of these cones. The cone does not open so I do not believe these are molds and the soldered narrow cylinder does not go through the cone so I believe that end went onto a pole or into a holder. One cone contained the fibrous wick in the last photo and it will be included in the sale. The torches are in rough shape and are being sold as is. Condition: Poor given their age and use. The cones have surface and through and through rust which has caused a few holes so unless patched they will not hold oil. One cone's opening is very rough and has chipped away. A vintage set of four aluminum copper-colored tiki torches with the wicks. Found at an estate sale. The torches have removable tops and a recessed area on the underside for sticks or posts. The torches measure 8 inches tall x 5 inches across the top and 2 1/2 inches across the tapered bottom. The torches have been used, so have areas of black soot from the kerosene. The insides are very clean. Faint scratches and discoloration from the soot are the only signs of damage. Two of the reservoirs have lighter colored areas in the copper-colored surface. I would guess that they are missing caps, as there are small loops on the lids, but they did not come with them at the estate sale. Unknown age and origin, as they were found at an estate sale. These 2 torches work very well. The one with hose has a cracked regulator cap. But the crack in no way interferes with safe operation. The torch head without hose puts a larger flame. The striker needs a new flint. I will ship to USA only.

Up for bid is a lot of welding(or cutting? torches. As shown in the photo. I know very little about these torches. But they certainly seem to be in pretty good, clean condition. Here is what info I can provide about them: Small tip only- top of photo- one small hole- Airco Style number 800( one small hole in tip) Airco Style number 700( one small hole in tip) Purox. No info on the torch. The longest one, in the middle photo- has a tip approximately 1/2 inch in diameter with eight small holes) Airco Style number 3890(Tip No. 2. Five small holes) Airco(bottom photo- 2490 marked- may be model number. Tip marked Style 112. No. 1- has five small holes. I will ship by my choice of carrier. Lot 3) Turner Brass Clayton Lamber Blowtorches Soldering Blow Torches Steampunk
Fresh from a local centennial farm I have these 3 gas blowtorches from the early-mid 1900 to offer. The red body torch is a Turner Brass torch with missing wood handle section. Valve knob(still operates) and top eye"hook" for soldering iron, but is in very good condition other wise. The black torch is unmarked, but appears to be another Turner Brass torch and it appears to be complete. The third torch is a Clayton Lambert torch that also appears to be complete. All 3 torches are original/untouched as found and would make restoration pieces for use or would display well in a steampunk/ old iron or other rustic themed decor.
