This listing is for an Antique Child's Travel Trunk filled with Baby and Doll clothes. The trunk is wood covered with metal that is painted to look like wood. One leather handle is missing. The lock incomplete and it has obviously been well used which is understandable if it was a child's toy. There is a hinge in the bottom that looks like it should be attached to the top. Gorgeous antique Chinese Carved Camphor Wood Chest in exquisite condition with original lock and key. Sliding top tray and side storage box. Commonly used as a blanket trunk as camphor wood is a natural bug repellant. Brought back from china by missionary great grandparents around 1920. Chest is 37 in wide, 19 inch tall& 18 inches deep. Still has slight original scent of the camphor wood. Brass lock has makers marks. Key is also original, it turns the lock, but the top catch it would lock is no more, if it ever was. the front brass lock does set in place, so chest can be locked with a thin padlock if desired. There is a sliding wood compartment in the top of each open side box with a drawer underneath. The mirror slides out. The chest weighs 13 1/4 lbs without packing. The chest closed is 12 3/4" x 10 3/8" x 7 7/8" high. When open with the mirror is 17 1/2" high x 23 1/4" with side boxes open. Mirror with frame is 10 5/8" x 7 3/4" wide. Large format books. Nearly A4 in size. This copy's in good condition: pages are all good, no markings, though they've yellowed with age. The covers are good, albeit with some minor creasing. No poster any more.
