Westclox roll top travel alarm clock. Light beige model#451. This clock comes from an estate. I have extensively tested it and it works fine. It keeps accurate time and the alarm sounds when scheduled. As seen in the photos, there is some dust in the ridges on the rolling lid, there are some chips in the paint on the clock face, and the brass is tarnished and needs a good cleaning, but overall this alarm clock has aged well and looks good for being 50+ years old. The back of the clock has the winding key, the clock set button, the alarm set button, and the alarm pull-out button to sound the alarm. It also has a place to adjust the speed that the clock operates to ensure it keeps accurate time. Vintage late 1930's? Travel Brochure - The Bluegrass State - Kentucky Highways
Beatrice Lowe Haskins(Mrs. Clarence Haskins) was my grandmother's cousin who we knew as Cousin Bea. Cousin Bea traveled extensively(mostly in the US) between 1930 and the early 1960 and saved many maps. Travel brouchures and other memorabilia. I have inherited several boxes of her items and will be listing them for auction/sale. All of this travel memorabilia has been stored in an unfinished basement for many years so they do have a musty smell. Hopefully this will improve now that they are out in the open. This auction is for a brochure for the state of Kentucky. I couldn't find a date. But the brochure includes a letter from Govenor Keen Johnson who was in office 1939-1943. The brochure measures shy of 10" x 5" and has 63 pages. There are some excellent black/white photos and also a fairly large road map in great condition. ... moreI was frankly appalled when I saw what was in color on the inside front cover of this brochure. But am told that this is considered Black Americana and possibly collectible, so am drawing attention to it for that reason alone. Although this was a different time and part of history, it's just amazing that there would be something like this printed directly across from the smiling govenor! Cousin Bea made notes on much of her travel materials. But this one is clean of pencil and pen marks except for the number 2702 that someone wrote in the top left corner of the front cover. The cover also shows some wear. I forgot to take a shot of the back cover, but it has similar wear to the front. The book measures approx 9" x 6" and has 32 pages. I am not a collector but overall it is in excellent shape in my opinion. There is slight wear around the outer edges. There is a small green mark on the'S' of Legends.
