Sweet Vintage PENN Surfmaster 150 Fishing Reel Surf Pier Boat
Vintage PENN Surfmaster 150 Fishing Reel. Has some surface wear(as seen in pictures) but this workhorse is in good solid shape. Heck when they built these things back in the day they built them last forever. These things are bomb prove and have caught tons of fish from huge drag screaming blues off the Jersey coat. Big rockfish in the Chesapeake bay or monster Muskies in the back wood lakes. This Penn 150 is in Very Good Working Shape and ready to fish. It cranks well with very good gears. And solid anti-reverse. It has a very good clutch with a very good free spool mode. Also a well working clicker switch and nice line out alarm. Vintage Lot of 3 PENN Peer 309- Surfmaster 200- Long Beach Conventional Saltwater Fishing Reels You are bidding on a Vintage PENN Lot of 3 Conventional Fishing Reels including a Peer 309. Surfmaster 200 and Long Beach. The Long Beach reel has the 68 side plate but please take note it is the same size as a 67. The all have a bunch of weathering and wear. The cranks are dry and starting to crack special on the 309. The 309 has 2 holes on each side of the top plate drilled out probably to fit a rod brace. The all still function, the could sure use oiling and tuning but all function is there on all of them, they crank, freespools work, drags work and clickers work and the 309 has a well working levelwind. Comes with original box and rod clamps. Box states that"2 Plastic Spools" included, but this one has an aluminium spool installed so was likely upgraded at some point. Spool probably from a Jigmaster 501. Reel has not been used much and in near perfect condition. Only shows some very faint pitting specs on top frame edge right side. Includes a classic Penn Surfmaster 100. And a Penn Squidder 140 modified with narrow body& metal spool. Couple of tough killers here. Both in perfect operational shape. Have been broken down, inspected, cleaned and oiled. Handles& spools spin like tops. Casting lever and clicker both flip on/off easily, drag adjusts smooth. Cosmetically they each show some pitting residue that has been buffed out on crossbars and reel seats. The 100 has some more significant scuffing on bottom of reel seat, but will be completely hidden when mounted on a rod. Sideplate on the 100 also has light etching of a name. 1940's VINTAGE PENN SURFMASTER--MODEL 200--QUICK TAKE DOWN FISHING REEL--CLEAN
Offered in this listing is a late 1940's Penn Surfmaster 200. This reel is in normal operating condition with all functions operating smooth and fast. The Penn Surfmaster is the Penn reel that brought Ocean Surf fishing to more people than any other surf reel. This class of Penn reels was introduced in 1940. Most new models introduced by Penn were spoon fed to the public. One model size at a time, not the Surfmaster. In 1940, Penn introduced five different versions of the Surfmaster in one model year. Penn was answering the demand created by the Surfmaster's big brother in 1939, the Penn Squidder 140. The Penn Squidder was the best of the best in terms of conventional surf reels but its price was a tad high for many people. What Penn did to solve the high price problem, was design a reel that gave the buyer the key features that made ... morea Squidder so great but left out the Squidder features that mandated a higher price, like aircraft style ball bearings for the spool and a convertible drag. The end result was another great surf reel at a working man's price. The Surfmaster 200 soon became known as the"Poorman's Squidder" and sold just as well causing Penn to dominate the conventional saltwater surf market forever. There were other competitors but the best value in the world for a conventional surf reel was the Penn Surfmaster 200. The reel in this listing is a nice survivor from the 1940's. It is identifiable as a 1940's Surfmaster first by the fact there are no parts numbers stamped on any of the metal parts. Penn did not start stamping part numbers until the early 1950's. This reel has the Bakelite lightweight spool. The quick take down function operates easily and it will cast beautifully. All functions. Drags, clicker, anti-reverse and free spool operate smoothly. There some spotting on the chrome that gives the reel sign of its age but it is a very presentable piece that would be a perfect reel to place on a old fashioned split cane surf rod for a wall hanging display. Nice Vintage PENN SURFMASTER #150 Saltwater Reel with Newell Upgrades
This is a vintage Penn Surfmaster 150 reel. It is used and in very nice condition. It works just fine and reels smoothly. The clicker sounds nice and the drag tightens and loosens properly. The free spool works fine, and the reel handle and reel handle knob rotate fine. There is some normal wear from use. Newell reel seat and crossbars have been installed. Vintage Penn reel parts Surfmaster left drag clicker face and reel handle brown
Vintage Penn Reel parts. Left face Penn Reel Surfmaster with the drag clicker and adjusting knob. The face is embossed with a surf caster. The clicker moves back and forth and the adjusting knob tightens and loosens. The handle has a brown end knob. Some patina and aging. Face probably needs cleaning. This is an uncommon vintage Penn casting reel Surfmaster No. 200. It is in working condition but needs a good clean. See photos.Shipping is $9.95 extra. A great piece. No reserve. Vintage PENN Surfmaster 200 Conventional Fishing Reel You are bidding on a Vintage PENN Surfmaster 200 Conventional Fishing Reel. Some normal finish wear but in all very good cosmetic and functional shape. Plates have some surface wear but very good solid shape in all. Posts. Crank, star, rings and seat have finish most brass spotting rash and wear as seen in the photos but all are solid good shape. Spool has wear but very good solid shape and sits and spins nicely. Again reel has wear most brass rash but very good in all. For close inspection you can check out the super-sized and zoom-able photos of this reel which show it off well. This Surfmaster 200 is in very good working order and ready to fish. It cranks well with nice click. Good gears and good solid anti-reverse. The drag works very good with a good range, strong, smooth and variable ... moreand the reel has a very good working clutch. The free spool mode works nicely and spool spins great. And it has a very well working clicker and switch. Has some wear as mentioned and seen in photos, but still a very good solid reel ready to fish or collect alike. For your consideration is Penn Vintage Yellow Handle This was used for a very short time. And I removed it for a oversize handle. Chrome is very clean. The yellow knob is free of chips and cracks.
