There are no ribs or tears and the zippers are all operable. There is also an adjustable shoulder strap that is attached to the back and in very good condition. The main part of the bag measures approximately 12" across. 7" front to back and 10 1/2" deep. In addition there are three pockets outside the main bag. The pocket on the right measures approximately 5" across, 2" front to back and 7" deep. The left pocket measures approximately 5" across, 2" front to back and 7 1/2" deep.
