Brass Nut & Saddle Bridge Blank for Classical Guitar Universal Blanks 1/4" 6mm
This listing is for 1 Brass Nut and 1 Brass Saddle Bridge Blank For Classical Guitar. This is a generic universal blank set for various makes of classical guitar. You need to measure what you have to be certain of what you need. You need to carve. File and sand this material to make a functional nut and saddle. The saddle piece is 3.5" x 3/8" x 1/8" The nut is 2 1/8" x 3/8" x 1/4" If you feel your instrument uses a 6mm nut. These should be fine as 1/4" is a slightly larger dimension than 6mm. This is going to be easy work compared to an electric guitar and shouldn't require a great deal of experience and skill. Since the highest strings on a classical are considerably thicker than an electric guitar. You don't need any super precision nut files. Just use some hack saw blades and some sandpaper. I ... moreflip the blades over and use the non teeth side with some sandpaper and work the slots once they are deep enough. You probably aren't going to be doing a lot of string bending per say so just a simple trough will be good enough. Just carve a channel deep enough to keep the string from slipping out of the slot. You shouldn't even need to contour the nut blank unless you just wanted to. Your plastic nut is probably narrower at the top than the bottom but maybe not. That's just preference! Do what you want to. The saddle bridge piece should need very little attention. Really the reason I got started doing this work is because the saddle piece is generally higher than it needs to be. 3/8" Should be tall enough to maintain your original height with room to remove some material if you wanted to lower the action. Improved action even on a classical guitar will improve playability. Just slip the saddle into a bench vice and wipe it down with a flat file. I suggest creating a front raised edge so the strings can clear the rear of the saddle and rest on the front edge. Just angle your file and make your passes working down the rear until you get to the front. If you keep

This listing is for 5 Brass& 5 Aluminum Nut Blanks These blanks measure 2" x 1/4" x 1/8" They are not curved. These are BLANKS! They are not drop in ready to go nuts! These blanks are an appropriate replacement for Fender"style" model guitars such as Stratocaster Telecaster and all their cousins. Please measure what you have to determine what you need. You need various tools to perform this task. A bench vice. A good medium flat file, some sand paper and slotting files to name a few. Use a pre-existing nut as a template. Align them in the vice to make your marks for slotting. I recommend using a sharp 1/8 chizel to remove the nut and clean the old glue for the channel. If the blanks doesn't fit nice and snug into the channel just put a small amount of clear silicone caulk in the channel and pull the blank ... moreup into correct position. This will be a great alternative to glueing. You don't need to permanently affix the nut into the channel, but it does need to be a snug fit. This technique will work great! 3 Brass 3 Aluminum Nut Blanks 4 Fender Guitar and Bass Universal Blank P USA
This listing is for 3 Brass& 3 Aluminum Nut Blanks These blanks are a great replacement material for American. MIM Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, or Jazz Precision P bass guitar. In reality. Just about any instrument Fender makes if in fact all Fender models. But PLEASE, measure what you have to be certain of what you need! These blanks measure- 2" x 3/8" x 1/8" These are BLANKS! You need to carve. File, sand and fashion this material into functional nuts. If you require a curved nut. This material is ideal. At 3/8" it would be tall enough to carve a radius or curve into the brass. Just use an existing nut. place both into a vice and trace the outline of the curve with a fine tip Sharpie marker. If the marker isn't laying ink down on the smooth brass, just scuff it with some steel wool. You can use a bench grinder ... moreto perform this task. Once you get it fairly close to roughed in, I suggest you stick it back into a bench vice and use a Dremel too with some fine grinding pads to finish it up. Dowel rods wraped with some medium and fine grit sand paper to finish up the curve. I use an 1/8" chisel to remove all nuts. It's small enough to get into strat nut channels. It works great for removing old glue and debris from the channel. And when you do remove all of your old glue. Don't be surprised if your brass or aluminum nut blank fits loose in the slot. If you find your nut is loose in the slot as if it isn't thick enough to make a snug fit. Get some clear silicone and squeeze it into the clean channel the press your nut down into it. Just make sure your nut is pulled up and in place before it dries. Give it a day to dry. Once dry, take a razor blade or knife and cut away the slack. It isn't going to be noticeable and will be perfect as you may need to remove and insert your nut to work on at the bench vice. Use a lubricant like Vaseline or lip balm and coat the brass with a very, very thin coat. If it's too slippery after the silicone dries, use a tooth brush with

3 Universal Brass Saddle Blanks Acoustic Bass Guitar 12 String Classical Blank
This listing is for a lot of 3 brass saddle bridge blanks These blanks measure 3.5" x 1/8" x 1/2" or 88.9mm x 3.175mm x 9.525mm 1/2" tall and 3.5" wide should be enough material for most any project. These are a great replacement for many different makes and models of acoustic and classical guitars and basses. The size of these blanks would be considered over sized to cover every possible situation. You simply trim these blanks to fit your instrument. I do not have any 3/64" saddles. They are too thin to work with. 4/64" or 1/8" is just right. However you may need to burnish these blanks more or less depending on your particular instrument. It's always a good idea to measure what you have to be certain of what you need. All you would need is a grinder with a buffing wheel and compound. A large flat ... morefile, some medium and fine grit sand paper for burnishing, a bench vice and a coffee cup filled with ice water. You will need to quench your blank when grinding or buffing to keep it from warping. Whether you install your saddle into a guitar with a piezo pickup or not, the strings need to be able to transfer the energy through the brass into the wood of the body. The entire brass saddle needs to make good contact with the bottom of the bridge. Put a coffee cup filled with water and a few table spoons of salt in the freezer. The salt will keep it from freezing solid. Keep it near your work area and quench your blank often. If your blank is too hot to hold in your hand while grinding or buffing. It's likely to warp.
