Vintage Bamboo Fly Rod - Nickle Silver Hardware, Agate tip tops
Decided to let go of another rod. It is a vintage rod with no makers marking other than the signature wrap. Have been told that it could be an early high end Montague from the 1920s. But that's just an opinion. I haven't fished this rod or cast it so don't know the line weight, but would guess it to be a 4 or 5wt. I have the original bag and tube, but the tube is missing the cap. I'm pretty sure the finish has been redone by a previous owner. It's a three piece 9 1/2' all the sections are full length. Bamboo has the mottled flamed appearance. The two tips are wrapped differently photo 11 shows it best. one tip has a wider wrap of green& red which I assume one is for wet fly and the other is for dry fly. The different wrapping lets you know which tip your using. The tube has Edwards written on it maybe a previous ... moreowner. Lot Of 6 Good Used Vtg. Fishing Rod Agate Tip-Tops Line Guides-3 Of Each-Fly ?
I’m not sure if these came from old fly rods or casting rods. It appears that the two tip-tops that are attached to the partial blanks are a fly rod size. They are amber in color. The other tip-top and the three guides appear much more reddish in color. I don’t know who made them or the exact sizes. None are damaged from use or abuse. And all have some soil. I firmly believe that the metal areas will polish up nicely by the right person. I’ll let the photos say the rest. Items will be shipped in a box. For consideration. A lot of miscellaneous used, vintage and antique fishing rod guides and tip-tops, a variety of old boat rod, casting, spinning, and snake styles in various stages of disrepair. There are some nice glass(amber& red) shock rings, others are red plastic, some nickel-silver but there are a number of them that are cracked and chipped. All need attention to cleaning and possible repair and everything is being offered"as is. Lot of St Croix Tip Tops-Great for Ice rods- Variety 22 to 49 inch
Up for auction is a few St Croix SCII rod part/components that can be used to make ice rods or for their parts. Tons of rod building material here. These rods were returned to St Croix for warranty and are all broken off of one piece rods. Originally purchased by myself to get into the rod building. But it never really kicked off so these have just been sitting around for a few years. Its time for them to go to a new home for use. The sizes range from as small as 22" all the way up to 49" and plus I've added other non-St Croix parts which are seen in the last four pics. They are in the right pile with the pic of the two rod piles. Thought I would throw them in as it wouldn't effect the shipping. I'm unsure as to how much shipping will be. 65 Good Used Fishing Rod Line Guides And Tip-Tops-Mostly Light/Med Spinning
All are used and all appear to be in very good. Usable condition. Some are still connected to bit of rods. Loose ones have light debris from the rod they were removed from. Shouldn’t be a big deal to clean them up for re-use. I counted 50 guides and about 17 tip-tops. Most all of the guides have ceramic inserts. There is even one snake guide in the lot. I threw in a few extra in case I overlooked a bad one or two. About 1/3 or so of the tip-tops are new. See Photos. I start each and every auction at $1. So don't let that be a concern. TWO VINTAGE SPINNING TOPS, a "DUNCAN HUMMER" & a WOODEN w/ METAL BALL TIP
Up for auction are two vintage spinning tops. One is an ANTIQUE WOODEN ONE with the colors of red and blue(original paint) and a metal ball-shaped tip. There is a gouge in the middle belly area of the wood(see picture#3) The other is a 1960's DUNCAN HUMMER made out of cream and orange plastic. They are both well used and scuffed from wear. Nice Lot Of Good Used Fishing Rod Parts Guides Tip-Tops Ferrules Hook Keepers
Everything here is used and was stripped off of various fishing rods. Everything is very usable. I counted about 65 assorted guides. 4 tip-tops, 3 hook keepers and 12 matching ferrules. Inside of the small plastic box is a tip-top, several snake guides and a matching ferrule from a fly rod. The insides of the ferrules may have some debris that will need to be reamed out. I don’t know the sizes of any and cannot say if there are any complete sets. Everything came from spinning, baitcasting and spincasting rods excep for the aforementioned fly rod parts. This Gymboree Tip Toe Tulip set is size 18-24 months. These are all in great used condition however when really looking these over. On the leggings there is a small stain near the knee and also on the back of the leggings. The pink top has a couple little marks on the sleeve(again, when really searching) The socks have some regular sock pilling, some discoloration on the soles and there is one stain in the green socks.
