This is a FANTASTIC Rotary head fly tying vise very early and no longer made. The vise comes with complete with a Thompson Hook/Hackle gage and a bobbin rest the total weight of the vise is 4.5 pounds it has adjustable jaw strength and a rotary lock to lock the head in place. It is made of hardened steel. Cast iron and brass, no plastic. H& H Co. calls it the Super ll Rotating Vice and sells for around 20 dollars plus shipping which I think is a bargain. It rotates 360 degrees for viewing your fly. It is not designed for the rotating fly tying techniques. It comes with 3 differently shaped heads. Vintage DH Thompson Model F Fly Tying Vise Fishing Lure Hook Vise
Up for bid is a DH Thompson model F Fly tying vise. It appears to be cast iron because it is heavy(it weighs 18 oz. and it is in good condition. It doesn't appear to have rust. On the clamp body there is a file mark through the paint about 1/4" long by 1/8" wide. The body is black and the handle is red so I don't know if it was made this way or not. The measurements are: Table clamps opens to 1 3/16" Approx. 6 1/8" high from tabletop. Fly Tying Hook Storage Rack by Spirit River (Container & Hooks Not Included)
Really neat solid wood storage rack designed by the Spirit River Company to hold their utility boxes. The pictures I took show the utility containers and fly tying hooks in the rack only as an example of how they fit. This auction is for the wooden Spirit River rack only. The containers and thousands of hook are"not" included. Sure the hooks are for sale, but I don't think you would want to pay my price. The rack itself I believe is made of cedar wood and the construction is very solid. It measures 11.5" wide. 11" tall to the wood and 14" tall if you include the white storage dowels on top, which I think are glued in place. The base measures 6" deep at the bottom and tapers to 4" at the top. As you can see, it holds six(6) of the Spirit River storage boxes(purchased separately) There are also additional ... moreholes for more dowels in the lower portion of the top, if you wanted to add additional wooden or plastic dowels. I used the space for flat storage. I included a picture of the empty storage box to give you an idea what it holds. This rack is a wonderful organizer and the only reason I'm selling it is because I made a custom rack very similar after running out of storage space. These are no longer offered by Spirit River and rarely show up on eBay. I believe it is also a much better design than what is currently offered by Oasis Benches. The rack is screwed together, so I will dissemble it for safer shipping. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
