293 Very nice Trout Flies and More I bought these from a Estate sale recently. Along with a lot of other fly fishing equipment that I have already sollooking. In this lot of Flies you will find some very realistic looking flies. I hope the pictures came out good so you can see some of the detail that was put into a lot of these. There are all sizes and styles. The 30 flies that come in the Wheatley box are the only ones that looked used, all the others look new or just unused. Large 32 window Wheatley Fly box
32 window Wheatley Fly Box. Excellent used condition, I picked it up from a Hardy Reel collector several years ago, I stored a bunch of flys in it, sat on a shelf in my office. I do not think it was ever used much if at all. I managed to pop a little plastic window out of it somewhere along the way which is noted in one of the pictures, all the doors and springs work fine, great box, holds a ton of flies without damage and fits well in a vest. This is considered the Rolls Royce of the Wheatley Fly boxes, great fly box.

It measures 4-3/4” x 3-1/2” x 1” and is marked Made in England with the lozenge on its side and the Wheatley Silmalloy Metal square framed logo on the face of the box. There are 12 compartments(8 rectangular and 4 oval/rectangular) with swing lids and a clear film cover. The other side has felt that will hold additional flies/accessories. Vintage Richard Wheatley Fly Box, Made in England
This is a vintage Wheatley fly box. It is made of steel not aluminum and has clip plates of aluminum riveted to the inside of each side. The plate on the left side is marked"made in England" at the bottom of the plate. The box was at one time painted brown or maroon it shows a lot of wear(patina) but is still useable. The box is 6in by 3.5 by 3/4 inch, there are 49 clips on each side. This would be a good addition to some collection.

This is an old. Square aluminium tin for fishing flies, made by Richard Wheatley, as you can see from the logo on the bottom flap of the tin(last photo) The tin is 10.9cm x 10.9cm x 2cm and contains 12 sheets with altogether 35 flies, which are tied to leader lines, plus there are more flies and leaders in the bottom of the tin. The tin has become a bit mottled looking with age, but is structurally sound, and all the flies and lines have been well looked after and are tidily arranged in the tin. The outside shows scuffs from normal use but the inside in really nice condition. From the Richard Wheatley websi te: On 25th May 1934 L(Lancelot) Kilroy. W(Willie)D. Kilroy and F Wheatley were granted a patent for what was to become Richard Wheatley's Kilroy Patent Fly Box. This series of boxes were designed around a spiral spring which held the hooks in place. Vintage Wheatley Mid Sized Fly Case and Flies.
I have called this a mid sized Fly case because it sit between the Pocket size and Vest Pocket size cases by Wheatley. This one measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" and has different sized clips on either side of the interior. The outer is anodised and is in pretty good order as is the interior. I hope the picture will give a good rendition of the flies contained in this case. They look to be in very good condition and useable. There are about 72 in total.

An exceptionally unique Wheatley fly box which I would guess is from the 40's or 50's. It has a front lid that opens as well as an inside portion that also opens. It looks as though the inside has the traditional hooks under the foam. It may require a little work but I think the finished product would be quite amazing. It is a Richard Wheatley bait style tin which is stamped Cummins of Auckland and is in good used condition( see clear picture to decide before bidding) It has a side compartment and leathered lid flap with clasp to hold items. It contains numerous items including. Unused assorted baitmounts, unused minnows, cast packets by Wm Brown, Alex Martin etc and also a Hardy Heavyweight minnow in packet plus swivels.
