The owner being in his late 70's said his father made it and fished Keweenaw Bay off of Lake Superior for trout. It could have been used in the open water jigging straight down for fish. And I casted with it a few times off a dock in a boat yard, but I never caught or tried to catch any fish with it. Since then it has been stored in a closet. It's in near perfect condition and comes with the original cardboard brochure that was attached to the pole when purchased. This is a used Shimano Blue Rose Inbreed S565R spinning jigging rod. Blue Rose is one of the early iconic saltwater jigging rods. This is a 1 piece rod. 5'4" in length, weighs 5.65 ounces, jig range is 120g-200g, PE6 max. Still sought after but no longer produced, this rod has been used quite a bit and has caught tons of fish. There is wear on the grips, I tried to capture the wear in the photos for you. Most of the wear is near the butt section. There are also a couple of small chips in the finish. Nothing that will affect rod performance. Titanium Fuji sic guides look good and there is no rust anywhere. The epoxy around the guides has some discoloration from just being old. Up for auction is an old ice fishing jigging pole. I believe this pole is over 25 years old. It was manufactured by U.S Line Co. but I was unable to find out any information on them. The model is JC ROD 18. The pole measures 15-1/2' from the tip to the start of the handle. The handle is 11-1/4" for a total length of 26-3/4" This is a very stiff pole.
