For sale is right hand retrieve. Shimano Calcutta 400TE. The"TE, stands for Total Efficiency. Shimano built their TE series reels with specific gear designs and internal mechanics that make their operation incredibly smooth and effortless. This reel is used, but in full working condition. There are external cosmetic blemishes in the way of scratches. I noticed a small indentation on the reel's left side, under the wording"TOTAL EFFICIENCY. The area is no larger than the two"f's, in the word, EFFICIENCY. However, I wish to disclose any and all defects; no matter how minor or insignificant they may be. Considerations when buying a reel lean more toward performance matters than appearance. Never the less, it's important to me to as a seller to describe anything I notice. After all, I buy many items on E-Bay myself. ... moreOne of the first things you'll notice when handling this reel is how easy it is to retrieve. To say it spins on it's own would obviously be an exaggeration. But it can feel that way when fishing with it. The variable break system(VBS) is easy to operate. And very easy to locate! I personally thought the way the VBS was accessed, but also hidden, was a little James Bondish. Like a secret compartment within the reel. You loosen a screw on the reel's right hand side. As you do, the left hand side of the reel opens up, revealing the weights on the VBS system! When you've set the weights to your liking, all you have to do is swing the left side plate into position, and tighten the screw; simply as that. In conjunction with the reel's other anti- backlash dial, I can't say you won't ever get a bird's nest, but I can say it's not as common as you've probably experienced with other reels. This reel is suitable for everything from Redfish and Snook, to Tarpon and Sharks. Shimano provides line capacity information as follows: Monofilament: 14/260. 20/160. Greetings. Up for sale is a Shimano C alcutta CT 400 B baitcaster These are awesome little reels. Smooth as butter, built for a lifetime and a pleasure to use. This reel has a very little use on it as you can see in the pictures, This reel is out of my personal collection and has been meticulously cared for. This reel was purchased for trout trolling with 8- 10 lb maxima line and works nothing less than perfect. It has a nice clicker for line out alarm and a drag system that is very smooth. Actually. This particular reel was used for lake trout trolling and it does have some very minor hairline scratches form general handling but it's overall appearance is very nice. Paypal only. This reel was used less then a handful of times so it is in excellent condition with only a few really minor scratches as you can see from the photos. I changed out the handle since I did not like the smaller paddle style handle that came with the reel. I also stripped the line off of the reel to show you the condition of the spool. It will not come with the paddle style handle. I use a high grade lubricant on my reels. Which I meticulously apply to all my reels after every single outing. So it functions better then the way it looks, which is almost mint. I take plenty of close up photos so please take a look at them as this is the exact reel you are bidding on.
