Okuma Stinson SB40 baitfeeder Spinning reel
This is a Okuma Stinson Bait feeder reel. It is a SB40 model. There is a conventional drag on the front. On the rear there is another drag that you set very light then lift the lever on the back. When a fish starts to take line you turn the handle. This drops the lever and switches you to the normal front drag. It usually surprises the hell out of the fish that was just running off with the bait. It is an odd looking reel that actually works. The reel has capacities of 410 yards of 8 pound test. 290 yards of 10 pound test, and 260 pounds of 12 pound test on the spool. Since it is a fairly large reel I use 15 pound Ande Back Country line and figure about 200 yards of line. That much line at least lets you get the boat started and follow the fish. The reel has performed great on fish up to 30 pounds and has never given me any problems. It is ... moremy last Stinson. I have converted over to Okuma Trio models primarily for reduced weight. You are bidding on a Okuma Epixor EF 55a large sized spinning reel. This reel is great for many types of large species fishing. The spool spins super smooth and locks up instantly. The handle is a bit wobbly but also cranks and locks up super smooth. The bail has slight resistance clicking over but also works and there are scratches to the paint on the bottom. In its current condition I am sure this reel is usable but due to the issues noted I am listing it for parts or repair because I do not know the extent of the issues. Because of this I am starting the auction very low but the reel is sold as-is. This model has 10 ball bearings and a 4.5:1 gear ratio. Line capacity 240 yards of#15 test.
