The inner rings have no splits at all. Also on each outer ring it appears someone has lightly sanded them and have exposed some of the brass beneath the chrome. This is a great combination: PENN SENATOR 114-H SALT WATER BALL BEARING TROLLING REEL MATCHED WITH A DAIWA BEEF STICK B171R-50 ROD with a rating for 50 pound line The reel was made by the Penn Fishing Tackle Mfg. Co. in Philadelphia. PA. They work together well to pull in the big ones. I listed both pieces as used. But they are in almost new condition with very few wear/use marks! See the close ups in the photos. The reel cleaned up with just a cloth. Everything works as it should including the drag. The reel mount is solid and in great condition. The blank. Handle, reel seat, guides and wraps are sound and there is no visible corrosion on any part. The red wraps have a very nice appearance against the gold and black blank. It is a one piece rod 76 inches long for a good feel and control. The 6 guides and tip top are roller guides. Please ... morecarefully examine the photographs to confirm the reel and rod condition before you bid. This rod and reel weighs 7 pounds combined and is 76 inches long.
