Penn International 50 Reel with Composite Rod Rebuilt
Hello fellow fisherman. Today i am selling my Penn International 50 reel with the matching penn Blue Mac's composite rod. The rod has roller guides, with some light marks on the grips. The reel is in great shape some scuffs and scratches but it is a fishing reel. In much better shape than many of the ones currently on eBay. Everything works as it should being as how I had the reel rebuilt and never got around to using it(I moved over 200 miles from the saltwater) Hopefully someone else can put it to use as it deserves to be. Offered here is a very nice 1940's-50's"Surf Castomatic" Reel by Quaker City Gear Works Mfg.Outdoor Products Corp. Penn Reel and Ocean City genre Surfcasting/Baitcasting/Trolling reel similar class as Penn Squidder and Surf Reels lines. Also looks like the beautiful Ocean City 936 Angeleno. A beautifully styled workhorse of a reel. Has handsome profiles and proportions, and built to perform in a broad range of sport fishing venues, in both fresh and salt water. The chrome is in excellent shape over all, having very minimal flake and shallow pit on the bars, the foot plate exhibits some salt/moisture effect on its topside, and the bottom or rod mount side looks almost new. The"Water Tight" bakelite head and tail plates ... moreare nearly perfect in my opinion, no splits, chips, scrapes, cracks or gouges, and the left has a nice, crisp logo script(plus spool control directives) Mfg. with stainless steel gears. Tention-spring spool cap reduces friction. Looks like it has a big Mono spool. Two of the pillar bolt heads at the front left positions show a little mar in the tool slots(significant only from the stickler's point of view) The crank handle/star drag wheel/crank nut group looks great. The big translucent red Football crank knob is a real eyeopener. The self-sealing oil ports work like new. Foot plate is original, has not been ground or altered. Ticker" has that smooth, new sound. Clicker" bait run alarm is loud and smooth, and the selector button works like new. Crank retrieve, free-spool travel, anti-reverse, spool speed adjuster, free-spool in/out lever and star drag adjustment all work as new.
