Penn Formula 15KG Reel and Pinnacle 20-50 line class all roller tuna rod combo
Penn 2 Speed 15 KG reel on Pinnacle Marine 20 to 50 pound line class full 5 roller troll stick. The Penn 15 KG is a very nice reel. The biggest plus is things like the carbon fiber housing does not chip or chip your other anodized aluminum reels. Another advantage is the 2 speed aluminum spool and drag which is very much like the drag and spool found in an international. This reel has a 20 pound strike and 30 maybe 35 pound Max drag. That is a lot for a carbon fiber body reel. The 5' Pinnacle Marine Rod is an old school through butt solid fiberglass stick. A huge advantage for solid durability but a little heavy as well. The roller eyes tend to stand up long past the Aftco that I also use. I guess it is actually because the rollers are probably ceramic but for sure. They do not corrode like Aftco chrome/Brass and they are water tubed. ... moreThis rod is the kind that you can step on and keep fishing without issues so I like them. No that has not happened with this rod but I have many more and have seen it happen without any damage at all. Rod and reel fully rigged to include 100# spectra.
