Nice Vintage 1960's Penn 704 Spinfisher Saltwater Fishing Reel with Box
Penn 704 reel that has been used however it's been taken care of. We found it stored with a light coat of oil over it and the drag was loose. From what I have seen and read on the net. This reel dates to the late 60's. Bail locks over into place and then flips back properly when the handle is turned. It spins freely and quietly even though we haven't oiled it. Drag works as it should. The little lever that keeps the reel from spinning backwards works effortlessly. Chrome very nice, paint is missing in a couple of spots as shown. Inside of spool has some roughness but nothing that would snag your line up nor would it interfere with its operation as the lip where the string rides is smooth. Cosmetically this one is in excellent condition, with just a few light scuffs on the edges of spool housing, some scrapes on inside edge of line spool, and the reel seat showing some minor paint flaking. Also the 710 logo on right side has what looks to be a minor oil stain I wasn't able to completely remove. Rest of the paint looks in near original condition as shown in photos. No signs of any pitting or rust on the metal, and overall shows very little use. Operationally it spins smooth, bailer sets and trips like clockwork. This listing is for the pictured Penn 750 SS saltwater spinning reel. This reel is a previously used piece that is in very nice condition. The reel is good for saltwater use and is intended for line weights that are in the 15 to 25 pound test range. The reel shows its prior use with some scratches. Scuffs, paint loss to the body, spool and handle areas. Functionally this reel is in good shape. The gears feel good when I turned the handle. The spool oscillates up an down properly and the drag tightens up too. It doesn't tighten to a dead stop but it is pretty snug. The bail trips with the external kicker that still has it's rubber bumper attached. The clicker works and the in/out gear switch works too. Overall this is a nice older model penn saltwater spinning reel. Classic Penn No.710 Spinfisher Dark Green Medium Fresh/ Saltwater Spinning Reel
This reel out of the 1960s is in very good minus condition. Needs cleaning and has some finish loss on the pedestal and the cup. The gold medallion on the side of the body opposite the handle reads"PENN REEL 710 SPINFISHER" around the image of a leaping fish. There is an on/off anti-reverse lever on the body behind the handle. The grip on the handle is a white torpedo style. The spool is partially filled with monofilament of unknown test, probably should be discarded. The Spinfisher line is known for its quality.
