This is a truly lovely and inspirational Italian Icon in the most ornate carved wood frame with a Rose motif. The Icon itself is of the Madonna and Jesus. It is a copy of the famous painting by Fra Angelico. The Italian Renaissance Artist. SHE is called in this painting"Madonna Della Stella" Madonna of the Stars) SHE has the most beautiful serene face, as SHE holds the Baby Jesus close. A crown is above HER head. SHE wears the lovely traditional blue robs of the Virgin. Sadly the very ornate frame has suffered some damage. There is a missing piece at the top. See picture 7 for details of that. Oscar Schmidt Stella– Rare 1930s Mahogany Wonderful tone. Condition Here is a wonderfully sweet little guitar. Today would be considered a parlor, and it is rather unique and rare. Beautiful player, with original interior logo and peghead logo. Only selling to purchase another guitar or I’d keep this one. It’s a beauty. Please note it is also for sale locally, so make an offer soon if interested. This won't last long. A Stella by the Oscar Schmidt Co. Made in approximately 1930, with solid Mahogany top, back, sides, and neck. Most often the O.S. era Stella’s offered for sale are typically solid Birch, or occasionally Oak; less often you may find Mahogany bodies with Spruce tops. This is similar to the Martin Style-17 models. However this Stella has a 24 3/4-inch scale, just a hair shorter then the Martins' 24.9 scale. The nut is a ... moretad over 1.75” perfect for those bends and blues. It’s currently set up at 3/32” with no buzzing, and obviously a 12-fret model. Wear is evident on the fret board as seen in the photo on the first two frets, but is great up the board and not an issue in playing. Intonation is spot on with no fret buzzing. This guitar is super loud yet mellow: it is ladder-braced with typical Stella appointments, and retains its original bridge, brass plate tuners with the upside-down gears as well as its original pre-1935 label. The serial number 30-6221 is stamped on the top brace and is visible through the sound hole. Great for fingerstyle and/or slide. At some point in its 83-year history the side was cracked. But it has been professionally repaired, with the side cleated, and the neck reset. These repairs happened before I owned the instrument, and they were very well done, although modern white glue was used rather than Hide glue, making the repairs obvious when viewing the interior using a blacklight. The guitar plays very well all the way up the neck, and stays in tune. Its tone is loud when strummed with a pick, yet sweet when used for fingerpicking ragtime or blues numbers. The finish a

Vintage 1960s Harmony Stella Guitar- Pristine- Details about the guitar for sale: Vintage early 1960s Stella by Harmony Acoustic. Model H929 made in the USA. Excellent condition and very playable. Solid Birch construction with sunburst tobacco finish. Floating bridge and metal tailpiece. It was a very popular model, and variations were sold under many brand name(Sivertone, Regal, Airline, Fender. We know his one is from the early 1960s as that is when the first introduced the white plastic pickguard and the fret marks where bars which were later replaced by"H" in the model from the late 1960s onward. This samller-size is well-made and soft sounding guitar and would be great as the prized instrument for the novice player or advance player looking for an additional practice guitar. Vintage parlor guitar V-neck, fretboard, Regal, Harmony, Stella, Kay, project
Vintage V shaped parlor guitar neck with slotted headstock. The fretboard is rosewood. I believe. Brass frets. The fretboard has the 10th fret dot marker, which means it's most likely from the 20's or earlier. I have no idea what brand of neck it is. Possibly a Regal, or Harmony or Supertone. Maybe a Stella? I don't know. Of course, it has no truss rod, but it looks straight. No cracks in either the neck or fretboard. No gouges in the fretboard where the cowboy chords are played. The frets are in good shape with lots of life left. I will include the wood nut that was on the neck. The waverly tuners that were on it are listed in another auction. VINTAGE 1915 STELLA 8 STRING BOWL BACK MANDOLIN AND CASE
Antique 1915 Stella Bowlback Mandolin. Very good condition for it's age. It's got a spruce top. Rosewood bowl, a fun flowery pickguard, and ebony fretboard. Celluloid pickguard is inlaid into the top with a flower decal. The construction on this mandolin, like most Oscar Schmidt-built instruments, is nice and reassuringly solid. Wonderful playable condition. Very old showing that it's been played much but not abused. Slight cracks on face along side bridge and along side neck. Bridge appears to be south of original position, but string to fret separation is adequate. Original case shows lots of use and top is no longer attached to the body after the leather hinges have deteriorated. Still usable however. Has the original label inside. Up for auction is a 1940's to 1950's Stella Harmony acoustic guitar! This guitar is in great shape for its age and has an amazing sound to it. It has a very bluesy. Warm tone and has a great ring. The snowflake fret markers are painted on. They did this until sometime in the late 50's. Steel reinforced neck, nickeled tailpiece and floating bridge. Has some scratches and wear(Its 60-70 years old) but is structurally in fantastic shape with no cracks or bowing of any kind. Great action and the neck is straight as an arrow. Let me first start by saying that this is a GREAT sounding little Stella. of every ten or so Stellas that come my way there's always one that's a real stand-out.THIS is that Stella. Stellas can really be hit or miss and most are never 100% solid in every nook& cranny however this one is super solid& tight like a tiger. Extremely well balanced sound over the spectrum with nice punchy bass. Not at all mushy; nice crisp trebles but the B string isn't too loud. And of course. She just screams with the bottleneck: This sweet little is in GREAT over-all condition for its age. And has very little play-wear. Plays great all the way up& down the neck with ZERO buzzing even when playing hard. and this thing is loud- louder than my Gibson jumbo! Neck is super straight and the frets are like new. String height@ nut is nice& ... moreeven. Built circa 1934 by the Oscar Schmidt Co. in New Jersey. Ladder braced top. Of course. Currently strung up to concert pitch with light gauge Martin steel strings. Solid birch body with very cool original pearloid pickgaurd; rosette& back stripe are decals. Lower bout = 13 1/2" Scale length = 25" nut width = 1 13/16" String height@ 12th. = 1/8" Tuners are super nice and work great! they have the little flat slot screws too. Stellas for everyone! Luthier special in need of restoration: This Stella is tore up and will need glue. Skill, and a bit of wood to restore her former glory. Here's what I see: Made by Oscar Schmidt circa 1934. There definitely IS the"Stella" logo on the peghead but it's too faint for a photo. Neck is straight.nice& smooth with a very comfy low profile'C' contour. Tuners are good-they have the Schmidt flat slothead screws. Solid birch body has a 13 1/4" lower bout. Scale length = 25" Top is pretty flat ans is crack free! Waist of treble bout has a very flush and hard to notice hariline. Three back cracks: 2 small. 1 big. Sported a temporary tail piece at some point. Original wooden end pin present and sound. All braces are present but some will need glue. There are side separations too. Vintage Stella By Harmony Parlor Guitar Model H930 Made in the USA 1971 W/ Case. Guitar is in used condition. It has scratches. Scuffs and nicks. There are no cracks in the body and there is no warping. Tailpiece has some pitting and minor rust. Fretboard has some wear. Tuners are difficult to turn. The action is somewhat high but adjustable bridge is as low is it will go. There are minor cracks in the pickguard. There is some old sticker residue staining on the front of the guitar. Guitar measures approx. 35.5"L. 13.5" at the lower bout, 9.75" at the upper bout, and approx. 24.5" from nut to saddle. Includes chipboard case that has sticky tape inside and wear. This has left a few sticky spots on the guitar as well. There are no odors and the latches are working, but the case should ultimately be replaced. A beautiful Stella H329 produced in April 1964. The guitar is in very good condition. It has some normal wear as would be expected. But no structural damage The case is in fair condition considering the age of it, and it has done it's job well in protecting the guitar. The guitar measures 36 1/4" from top to bottom and is 13 1/4" at the widest point. Stamped in the inside of the guitar is 4648H329. The guitar could use a good cleaning and dusting. Stellas for everyone! Circa 1934 Oscar Schmidt Stella"Fauxbro" Here is a very rare and ORIGINAL Oscar Schmidt Stella"Fauxbro" that's right. A regular Stella with a factory added Dobro type"resonater" but it is a fake cone: just essentially a disc screwed onto to the in order to look like a Dobro. However, interestingly enough, it actually adds volume to the guitar and has a real cool tone! This guitar looks to have had some repairs performed at some point. And it's solid. there are some repaired cracks and a screw though the heel. It could use tweaking and a set-up. But it actually plays pretty good.jus fine for open G blues: The string height is 1/8" and it plays pretty good and has a killer bottleneck tone. The fretboard has cool playwear and a funky original light finish.there are fret markers@ ... morefrets 5.7,10,12. 25" scale 13 1/2" lower bout. As I am not a Luthier or expert on Guitars or other instruments. Please excuse my attempts at correct terminology. I have consulted with a Luthier. That along with some online research and my own experience and observations form the speculations* and certainties below. Some pictures show red, white, green and blue images on finish. They are camera flash, TV, fireplace and/or window reflections unless noted otherwise and any perceived blemishes are flames in wood grain unless noted. I have detailed any and all cosmetic issues in the condition section and/or below. The following are observations and when noted with an* opinions. Any additional knowledge/information is welcome and appreciated. Harmony Stella H929-3/4 size. Parlor acoustic guitar. 1960. Serial# 774H929. There may be a number before the 7, but too faint to make out. Originally ... morepromoted for those of"small stature" Non-original and condition issues noted above. All Solid Wood Guitar with the vertical Faux Grain patterning. Guitar is is exceptional condition with only small, hairline paint cracks where pickguard screws were. All seams, bracing, kerfing are intact. No neck heel lift. No neck bow. Neck has just the proper relief. Action is very low. So low that some may prefer to shim under the bridge. 12 frets to body. Bridge placement is very near tailpiece giving guitar more volume, tone, projection and sustain than standard Stellas. Tailpiece in Mint condition. Surprising tone and volume from a guitar of this size. The neck on this guitar is nearly blemish free with perfect intonation at current set-up and scale length. $1 1879 METRIC DOLLAR PATTERN PCGS PR63 J-1617 FAMOUS "SILVER STELLA"
William Barber's Metric classic dollar design with Liberty wearing a coronet with a border of pearls. The reverse is elaborately laid out with a partial wreath of cotton and corn tied at the base. A ribbon, and with motto"DEO EST GLORIA" on a tablet above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. As pointed out in the USPatterns.com website"These, apparently, have never undergone metallurgical testing. So, it is uncertain if this piece(or any 1617s) were actually struck in goloid or if the Mint simply went for the simpler option, to strike the patterns in the silver planchets that were available and simply label them with the goloid content on the reverse. The Judd-1617 is the only possibility for an actual goloid composition as this design was also struck in copper, aluminum, white metal, and lead. The site also makes the ... moreinteresting observation that these pieces were sold in sets along with Judd-1626 and Judd-1635(gold stella) to congressmen for $6.10. Later they were sold to collectors for $15! The first public offering of one of these sets was in Scott Stamp and Coin's July 1880 sale, lots 1258-1260. The obverse design is similar to the one used on the famous half union from 1877. The fields are brightly reflective and each side shows scattered streaks and dabs of multicolored iridescent toning. A splendid example of this popular pattern.
