Vintage True Temper Rapier Trolling Conventional Rod
This rod has been in storage and has seen very little use. Once piece. 5' overall length. The wood handle and rubber butt cap are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The metal reel seat is in excellent condition with minor marks from mounting a reel. The rod blank has no damage, but has a darker patina that I have not tried to clean. It may clean up nicely, or could be left as is to show honest age. The guides are rust free. The wraps are a little faded but solid with no unraveling. The rod is marked"Rapier 2345 5' CUSTOMIZED by TRUE TEMPER" See my other listings for the reel that came with this rod.

Here is a 7 ft. 2 piece spinning rod. The large butt handle looks as it would work nice in a rod holder. There are no specifics on the line or lure wt. But the rod looks to be medium heavy. There are plenty scratches and nicks on both pieces of the rod. The threads on the reel seat are marked up but turn well. There are 5 guides and all are in good shape except for a small amount of spots and the largest guide has a broken weld near the rod. The grip has a few slices not to deep otherwise is in good shape. Here is a 2 piece rod it is marked 8 feet 6 inch but only measures 7 feet 9 inch. Which means the tip broke and was re glued. The reel seat threads work well. The grips are chewed up with small pieces missing. All 10 guides are in good shape with paint missing off the one closest to the reel seat. There are marks and scratches on the rod itself. Vintage 1960s-early 1970s era Garcia 2691T spinning rod. Long two-handed grip handle. Appears to be intended as a light saltwater surf spinning or surf casting rod. But it would also work well as a freshwater lake trolling or casting rod. This rod appears to me to be in new or near-new condition- the only sign of wear that I find is some ink residue on the cork grip, most likely from an invoice that was wrapped around it. Otherwise in bright new old stock condition.

Has three eyes and measures only 50 ½ inches in length. Measures 4” around at the thickest part of the handle. 3” around just above the reel seat and 1 ½ inches around at the tip. This is very hard to find a piece of musky history. It’s in very good to nearly excellent condition for it age. I believe it’s from the 1950’s or 1960’s.
