A vintage 1940s era fishing reel and rod with case. Found on estate cleanout stored in garage. Am NOT a fisherman or collector. As is condition. Please ask any questions before bidding. The case must have gotten wet at one time. The metal rod inside is rusty, as is the fishing rod to put into the end of the reel. See photos. Would need restoration. Vintage HSB&CO Split Bamboo Fly Pack Rod Restore Project
This auction is for the vintage HSB&CO Revonoc Split bamboo pack rod shown in the photos. This is a restoration project. It's missing some ferrules and guides. The ferrules that are there will need cleaning up to fit properly. The shafts are not equal in legnth(shown in photos) I see no signs of separation. The carring case is stiff and worn. This is a nice rod to restore as a collectable but not very practical for fishing. The handle and cork look to be in very good condition. What you see is what you get. Sold as is! This is a lot of split bamboo fishing rods. It includes a two-piece surf rod and a two-piece boat rod. Also included is another boat rod end and a butt section but I don't know if the third butt goes with the third end. The rods appear to be in good shape(no splitting) but would require some work to fully restore them(ferrules and guides)

Steel Fishing Baitcaster Rod Penn 77 Reel Cork Handle Green 4'6" Vintage
Steel rod with no manufactures marks that I can find. Rod is small at approx 4' 6" in length. Green paint on steel rod. Some nicks and corrosion on metal. Noticeable on metal guides more so than elsewhere. Cast metal handle with no cracks or damage. Cork handle has wear and some pitting to the finish. Reel is a Penn 77 made in USA. Bakelite sides and handle knobs. Turns freely forward and backward and click control works as it should. Here is a Vintage Mil wards of England Solid Wood Salmon Rod. This is a 3 piece 1 tip with a length of 10 feet 7 inches. I believe this rod is Greenheart but not sure. Th e t ip section is short by 2.5 inches. The ferrules are spiked and brass in construction. The mid has all the guides but the but need to have the agate or glass insert reattached. The tip section needs 3 guides replaced. These are the t hin wire casting style guides. The cork grip is 16.5 inches long. The reelseat. Cork a nd ferrules are in good sh ape. The Milwards name is l egible on the butt ca p. The sliding ri ngs for t he reel are brass in construction. The sections are pretty straight but t he tip has some fishing experience. Vintage folding/collapsible fishing rod/pole
The makers of this fine fishing pole should have been put on. But it is not. It is very well made, and is true and straight, no kinks and not broken. The cork portion, has got a few dings from use, please see pictures. When fully extended it is 59 inches long. The individual rod pieces are made of what looks like copper, the eye lets are also made of copper. The cap that the rod goes into is made of brass, the part that the fishing reel is attached to is made of aluminum. The whole thing is very durable, and I would not be afraid to use it with a light line for a small type of fish. The dollar bill is for size comparison, and is not sale with this auction.collapsible

This old Dave Cook's Tarryall split bamboo fly rod is really outstanding. As can be seen in the pictures. The original guides and eyes are all present. The rod is perfectly straight, the bamboo is tight and the rod shows little evidence of use. The handle appears to be made of black walnut wood. The total length is 8 foot 8 1/2 inches. The butt and middle sections are 35 inches and the tip section is 34.5 inches. The old rod holder in the photo comes with it. The rod weighs 6.3 ounces. Priority Mail postage in the US is $15. Vintage~Never Used~HORROCKS IBBOTSON Power Glass GOLDEN ROD Rod Fishing Sport
We have for your consideration this wonderful and rare Estate find; ~ Vintage~Rare~ Never Used~ HORROCKS IBBOTSON Power Glass GOLDEN ROD Fiberglass Rod Parts ~~~I am not an expert in fishing rods so please ask questions if you have any before you buy~~~ This Rare Rod Set. Found at a nice estate sale appears to"never have been used. Ever" It does not have the handle section. It does appear that the two pieces have been put together a few times by some one. But the large insertion end of the bottom part has never been attached to a rod handle, as there are no markings on the anodized metal whatsoever. Research has led me to believe that this Rod Set should have came from the early 1950's As I said. I am not an expert but the only thing that I can see negative about this set is that the HORROCKS IBBOTSON decal has some scratches ... morebut it is still mostly readable. The eyes still reveal a coating of some sort. Possibly varnish on the inside surfaces that is mostly still there from not being used. One of the eyes on the upper section. Although the varnish is identical to the rest looking at it under magnification; appears to be wrapped slightly different than the rest. All of the eyes are secured to the Rod The tip I see no rough abrasions. Cracks, or repairs on this nice Rare rod set. I can not imagine that there are very many rods such as this from the early 1950's that have never been used. And by all rights probably should be considered"new old stock" If you are a collector looking for these parts. Then I would have to guess that you will not find a better example of this HORROCKS IBBOTSON Rod Set for your collection any where! F E Thomas-9 1/2 ft Salmon Rod-Special Series-#382 6 7/8 oz- original tag Nice
For your consideration- A very nice F E Thomas 9 1/2 ft Thomas Special Salmon Rod which also has the fight butt handle- tip tube.Cap and sock- canvas case with orig tag- butt section has ferrule plugs for both ends and the butt end plug is numbered the same as rods reel seat#382- which all matches the original tag guides and wraps nice and tight. This rod is near mint do not think it was used more than a dozen times, the only issue I see with this rod is the butt and middle sections the original finnish is cracking and should be either touched up or refinnished but not terribly check pics- there is a wrap near cork that is starting to come loose and the cork is lightly soiled from use. Vintage Combo TRUE TEMPER 5' 1" Steel Fishing Rod w/ ZEBCO 11 Reel "Very Nice"
I was at an auction one night and this man came in carrying the 2 poles I have listed. They were wrapped together with the old line you see on the pole. I had seen a couple of these steel rods but never had the chance to buy them. They really are a rare breed to find in any condition. They were so dirty I couldn't tell what kind of reels were on them. As you can see. It turned out to be the zebco 11. This one and the other one I have listed I bought them with the same reel on them. I've always enjoyed restoring antiques. Everything from cars to furniture. This was the first time I ever done fishing rods and reels. I have a new respect for those who take the time to restore them. If you collect these but have never cleaned one of them up, you need too. If you buy these at what I have them listed for, you should be arrested. It's ... moreagainst the law to pay someone to work for less than minimum wage. The time it takes to painstakenly restore these rods is amazing. Everything is so time consuming. When I restore antiques, I don't restore them to look brand new. If you like them that way, thats fine. I don't like to take all the character out of them. I like the fact that they have been used and when you look at the 2 I have listed, you will see what I mean. Believe me, if I wanted these to look brand new, I have the bead and sand blasters to do it and it would have been so much easier and faster. Unfortunately, when I started cleaning this rod, it did take it all the way back to bare metal. It is clean, it's just brown colored from the tempered steel. Unlike the other one I have listed, it left this one looking discolored in places from the steel being tempered. Most of them were painted. I also left the copper winds around the eyes bare. Why would I cover them up. I didn't take the reels off in the pics, but trust me, it's polished under them and the co. logo is plain and clear. I also left the dents and marks on the but of the rod. I could have just made a new one or made that one perfec

One is a custom made rod on a Sabre blank made by"The River Rat" of Arizona. Both rods are in excellent shape, the wrapping is still intact with no unwinding or deterioration of the epoxy. Guides are straight with no rusting. The tip of one rod appears to have had the guide re-epoxied, but no damage to the blank. The hypolon is still soft after 30 years. Bamboo Fly Rod (5 piece)
Up for auction is what appears to be a lightly used bamboo fly rod. I am not familiar with the history of this rod but other than some damage to the cork grip. pictured) it appears to be in very good condition. There are a total of five pieces. Three of them can be assembled to make about an 8' rod. There is an extra tip for this 8' configuration. The tip and mid-section can be removed and a different tip can be added to make a two-piece rod that is about 5-1/2' long. The guides on this tip are different from the guides on the other tips. It's almost as if it can convert from a fly rod to a bait casting rod. I cannot find any markings on the rod indicating a brand, model name or number, weight, etc.nothing. Vintage 1910 FE Thomas, Bangor, Me. Dirigo Bamboo Trout Fly Rod, Two tips, 9 1/2
Search This is a vintage Thomas fly rod. Made in bangor maine. This rod has two tips, each with a different style end on it, Im guessing its a wet fly and dry fly tip but not sure. All four pieces are straight and true with no bends. One tip is about 5/16 of an inch shorter than the other but one of the metal tips is 3/16 of an inch longer than the other, being a different style, so that accounts for part of the difference in length-the tips appear to have never been broken or repaired. Butt section is 38 8/16 long, center section is 38 8/16 long, one tip is 38 7/16 and the other is 38 2/16 long. The rod appears to be complete and is marked Dirigo FE Thomas Bangor Me on the reel seat. Reel seat appears to be nickle plated and has what I think is called a rolled soldered slide bar. I did some research but correct me if Im mistaken about names/details ... moreof this item. I was told and believe that the finish on the rod is the original varnish. The butt section and center section need to have the line guides rewrapped as they have been attached in a very sloppy manner, as shown in the pics. The two tips look to be in great shape however with all the guides securely attached. The rod measures 114 1/2 inches( 9 1/2 feet) when assembled but I did not really"jam" the sections together for fear of not being able to get them apart again. I believe the cork grip is referred to as sheet wrapped. Two tips come in a round bamboo storage case with a screw on cap. Bamboo case fits into the original canvas rod sack along with the butt and center sections. Canvas case is marked with the name LAWRENCE, I assume the original owner but dont know. This is a great rod but does need some repair work. I am not an expert on fly rods and got most of the info off the internet so please ask questions if you have any. Conolon Missilite Titlist 9100 Fly Rod This is a near mint to mint two piece fly rod that has an anodized aluminum reel seat a length of 8' Circa 1950. These rods were a revolutionary concept utilizing an unusual rod material called Missilite. Missilite was a lightweight material developed for World War 11 aircraft. New" Different" Exclusive: were words to describe these new Conolon fishing rods. These rods were manufactured in Costa Mesa. Ca. during the 1950's by the National Rod Manufacturing Company(NARCO) No serious collector will want to pass up on this rod. As they are extremely RARE. Unfortunately I do not have original sock and tube. But will ship in with replacement sock and aluminum tube.
