It has been made in 1960s. There are 7 snake guides, including two that are relatively close together on each side of the ferrules. The wraps are green tipped in black. The ferrules, wraps, decal and details are in great shape. The reel seat shows a few signs of use. The cork grip is in excellent condition, and I doubt this was fished very much. This is a 7 foot Shakespeare Wonderod 2 piece spinning rod with a cloth case and an aluminum Wonderod tube with two caps. The only flaw in the rod is a chip in the front of the cork grip. This rod would be rated as light action. It has 5 stainless steel guides with clean unbroken wrapping and two slide-on reel sleeves. It is a number 1286 model FHF. It was made in the U.S.A. The wraps on this rod are made from thread and the color of these wraps is a little darker on the tip section than on the butt section.

The only information I could find on this pole was a newspaper article from 1948 about a small factory in Spokane that hand made these steel fishing rods. You can read the article if you google"Satterlee fishing" The handle is made of fine grade well-seasoned maple that Satterlee acquired from old discarded school desks. This pole is approx 69" long. It does separate as shown in photos. I see a line across the fastening section that I'm not sure is supposed to be there. There is some slight rust on the pole but it is still in very good condition for it's age. There is a water spot on the wood which I also captured in the photos. In 2008 we were selected by the National Parks and Recreation Association to serve as one of 30“ANCHOR AGENCIES” in the U.S. dedicated to promote and engage youth in the fishing and boating activities. Fishing For Life collects rods and reels throughout the year. The majority of these rods are restored during our annual rebuilding day and given to youth at our lake events or to organizations needing fishing equipment. Vintage Garcia Conolon USA 2132 C 2-Piece 5 foot 6 inch Spinning Rod Model#2132 C 5 1/2- Lure Weight: 1/8 oz. to 1/2 oz. Line Weight- 2- 6 pounds. Light Action. Fast Taper. Original tube show years of storage but the matching sock and rod do not. Original sock shows no fading. No tears, and the label is bright yellow, red, silver, and black. The 2-piece rod shows no evidence that a reel was ever mounted to the pole. It comes with shinny metal work, unmolested cork, and bright paint. There are some very light scratches from storage, but I think you will agree that this old rod was never used. This is a vintage H-I(Horrock-Ibbotson) Mohawk, Cascade, No. 1428, 7 1/2' two piece fly or spinning rod. The rod is stamped Mohawk, H-I, Cascade, No. 1428, 7 1/2 Ft. Horrock-Ibbotson, Made in USA the stamping is in fair to good condition with some lettering and decal loss. My rod m easurement is approx. 7' 1" long and is a two piece rod. So the rod must have been broken because 5" are missing and my guess is that it was broken in front go first eyelet(see photo 7& 8) looks like metal fitting rod was refitted and glued in rod where the break may have taken place. This rod has 6 eyelets wrapped in yellow and red string and all the eyelets look to be in good condition(See Photo 6) with the exception of the first larger eyelet which has a bend in it but is still useable(see photo 5) The rod is in good condition and shows ... moresome smudges and scratches and like I stated earlier that rod has been broken and repaired and the cork rod handle is in good condition and shows some wear on the ends. You are viewing a vintage Mohawk Fiber Glass H-1 Fishing Rod with a cork handle. This is a R ainbow 1408 rod by Horrocks Ibbotson Co. This is an 8 foot fly rod a nd has 8 eyelets. The rod come apart in the middle. All eyelets seem to be se cure. There a couple of very small nicks to the yellow finish near the cork handle. Other than that. This is a near mint piece. It comes with a green cloth sleeve that was made for it and is labeled. The sleeve does have some tattering and age wear. This also has the original metal cylinder for p rotection. There are a couple of small dents in the cylinder as pictured. Overall. This is a great find that is in excellent condition and will make an fantastic addition to any collection. This auction is for two antique split bamboo fly fishing rods. Both found at the same recent estate sale. The one that is 8' and unmarked was found in the Phillipson tube only and the one 9' marked PHILLIPSON PACEMAKER was found in the sock only so I decided to sell them together although I cannot be sure of the maker of the unmarked one and it probably did not belong in the Phillipson tube. Both are 3 piece rods and they both weigh 5.8 ozs. each. Both rods are in excellent condition and appear just very lightly used with virtually no missing varnish except a few tiny pinhead size spots. The 9' Phillipson is missing 1 line guide at the end of the second section and that is the only detail to note but this should be an easy fix. Up for auction an Extremely Nice 1949-1952 SHAKESPEARE NO. A1362B"SPRING BROOK" 9 FT. 3/2 SPLIT BAMBOO FLY"TRADE" ROD WITH THE ORIGINAL LABELED BAG& LABELED FIBER TUBE. These were actually"Trade" rods built and supplied to the Shakespeare Company by the South Bend Bait Company, as Shakespeare never produced their own bamboo rods in the years leading up to and after WWII. Because the rodshaft carries the green Shakespeare decal that contains the words"Made In U.S.A. we know it's a post-war model built from 1949 to 1952. The"Spring Brook" was probably Shakespeare's most popular model over the years. I've included a photo of the original listing from Shakespeare's 1951 catalog. Rodshaft carries a perfect"Shakespeare Honor Built- Honor Sold" decal on three flats, with"A-1362B-9" ... morein white ink stamped on an opposite flat. Built with very nice light-colored Tonkin cane and comes equipped with extra tip section, agatine stripping guide, 11) hardened steel snake guides, South Bend welted ferrules, flip-ring hook keeper, NPB winding check, screw-locking"Lite-Lock" SB reel seat, solid cork Half-Wells grip and wound in multi-colored silk. Built in what Shakespeare described as"Bass" action, which I gather is a modern 6 or 7 wt. Rod is in solid Very Fine+ condition, showing only light evidence of use. Certainly, one of the finest Spring Brook models I've ever handled. Bamboo is perfect, with no splits, cracks or delamination whatsoever. All sections are the correct equal length and are arrow-straight. The original varnish is excellent, showing only faint evidence of use. Decal and markings are pristine. Vintage Lamiglas 8' 6" Limited Edition 1800 AFTMA #8 Fiberglass Fly Fishing Rod
You are bidding on a vintage Lamiglas Limited Edition 1800 AFTMA#8 2 piece fly rod. This rod is in excellent condition with the exception of the butt cap which is missing and a few light scratches. The guides are straight and the wraps are tight. The cork is also in excellent condition. The handle is in very good condition with a few light scratches as seen in the pictures. The rod is marked as 8' but it measures 8'6" The butt section and tip section are a perfect match and they fit together perfectly. It is possible that there was a second. I bought this rod from a gentleman about 10 years ago. He said he always bought 2 of everything. So this one never was used. I am not an expert, but I am guessing it is from the late sixties. It is in allmost perfect condition. The sleeve and rod tube are in very good condition. The photos accurately portray it. I do no t think the rod was e ver used. But there is a small scuff in the gold portion at the front of the ha ndle. See the sixth picture. This might be a storage scuff. This rod would be perfect for displa ying your vintage muskie ree l.
