Vintage and Rare Hardy 'Leonard' 2pc Wooden Pike Rod. Patent Wheeled Tip Eye
This rod was built Circa 1910. It is made out of two solid pieces of wood. The handle or butt section was probably shaped by hand from a single shaft to form the handle which has been tapered to form the butt section of the rod. You will find the name of the rod on the butt section. It says'Leonard' Has it been hand written in ink, stencilled or transfer printed? The rod has a rubber butt stop with a brass butt plate. That plate bears the Hardy Trade logo and address along with the Post Number: A55481. The butt section is fitted with the Hardy'W' Reel Seat mount which is nailed to the wood. Above this you will find a sliding brass ring with which you secure the reel in place. The two parts of the rod are joined with male and female brass ferrules. The rod is equipped with brass snake eyes apart from the tip eye and this is ... morewhat makes the rod a collectors item. The tip eye. As can be seen in picture 4 is hinged and is in the form of an enclosed roller wheel. The fitting carries the patent number: 313685. You will have to excuse me but my book with patent numbers is not to hand at present. I will address this shortly) The rod measures 8' in length. VINTAGE SOUTH BEND 359-9 FLAMED SPLIT BAMBOO FLY FISHING ROD This auction is for a vintage refinished four piece South Bend 359- 9’split bamboo fly rod with original storage clothe. There is a South bend decal and a 359-9 inscription. The 359 model was considered South Bend’s”dry fly action” rod. All of the sections measure 37” I would estimate it would match nicely with a five weight fly line. The six inch Comficient cork handle is in good functional condition. There is South Bend lite lock reel seat with a cool looking ivory marbleized pyralin spacer. The mid and tip section have three snake eye guides. The stripper guide and wraps on the bottom section have been professionally retied. The wraps near the top of mid section and bottom of the two tips have also been newly wrapped. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled. Has the distinct“pop” ... moresound when removed and all sections are straight. I meticulously stripped the old varnish. Refinished with four coats of spar varnish and completed it with high quality wood rubbing compounds. The ferrules have been buffed and polished. I acquired this Winchester rod from a fly fishing estate last year and thought that somebody could get some use out of it. Here are the specs: It has obviously been refinished. One set of ferrules have been replaced. It was originally a 9' rod and the sections measure 37" 36 1/2" and 35" The ferrules fit good and this rod would make a good bluegill or trout rod at an economical cost. Vintage Late 50's Fenwick Feralite FS70 Spinning Rod in Case with Cloth Sleeve
Rare late 50's early 60's Fenwick Feralite FS70 4 7/8 oz. Seven Foot Spinning Rod with Case and Cloth Sleeve. This Fenwick is a pre zip code rod which makes production before 1963. The rod is in great condition with only some scratches on the reel seat. The original Fenwick tag is also included and not often found with a rod of this age. The guides are all excellent and the wraps are complete. Tight and glossy. The original rod tube is cardboard and shows less than average wear. The rod sleeve is cloth with the Fenwick label and has three little wear holes and the fabric is still strong and supple. This is a gently used and well cared for rod ready to fish or add to your collection.

This two piece 7 1/2' fiberglass fly rod is in excellent condition. No indication that it has ever been fished. There are no marks on the anodized aluminum reel seat. No wear on the ferrule. I am told that this was made soon after the Browning acquisition using Silaflex-made blanks. The reel seat is stamped with serial number 443159. This comes with the original bag and brown painted aluminum tube. A super quality rod for the fiberglass collector.

This pole is extremely rare as most older fishing poles where made of bambo. This pole has a two piece design and has copper joints and eyelets. The end of the pole has what appears to be possibly a cast eyelet. There is a copper sliding clamp that when slid into place holds the reel on. I am guessing that there is suppose to be two of them but one is missing. Someone has attached a hose clamp to replace the missing one. The reel appears to be plastic and brass with wooden handles on the crank. The reel appears to function fine in both direction. It is the Pfueger 1978 model. This auction is for a used Montague fly rod as pictured. This is in good shape for the year. I do see one eye missing as in the last picture. Other then that it does appear to be complete. But please check the pictures. I am not really familiar with these old poles and there are NO GUARANTEES OR RETURNS. There is some normal aging on this, but overall I feel it is in good shape for the year. It also includes the case as shown. This measures just over 9' end to end. Here's a treasure for some angler/historian's den: a limited edition print(76/395) of Michelle Jacob Sweigart's 1995 painting"Traditions of an Angler" surrounded by ten pencil drawings of a fish. Flies, feathers, and much more. The total print size is about 22.5" wide x 18" tall.the oval which is printed in full color is about 16" wide. This work features Kenneth Reinard, Ye Olde Colonial Angler, fishing on a local stream with his Revolutionary War era period costume& tackle. The print is signed by both M.J. Sweigard and Mr. Reinard. FYI: The print background is a light eggshell/ivory-white color; the close-up showing the edition number turned out much darker than the actual print. Value? In the mid-1990's. This print retailed for $90.00 and has appreciated since then; I suspect this is one of ... morethe final copies which has not been framed. Up for auction is this Edgar Sealey and Sons of Redditch Greenfisher spinning rod. The rod is eight feet long and is made of solid glass. All of the rings are sound and whipped in a nice dark red. With intermediate red and black whippings. The decal is in excellent condition and intact. The screw down handle is good and the butt has the correct Sealey motif black plug.
