The locking ring has an early patent number'1807078' The sections are all extremely nice. Free of cracks to the bamboo, and all appearing to be straight, and with good ferules, good guides, good wraps, and nice finish. This has a nice. Clean cork handle with a small chink in the cork. The aluminum case still has a partial Heddon advertising label. And has a good end cap that screws on and off smoothly. This is a very nice vintage Heddon Thorobred bamboo fly rod outfit. Hi and thanks for looking. Up for sale today is this Vintage Split Cane/Bamboo Rod. 3 pcs. It is about 10' when assembled. Fittings are somewhat tarnished but still in good shape and they fit together well. The rod has one obvious split(one side only)see last pic; split is a little south of center, and there are the beginnings of other minor cracks throughout(see 4th pic, middle rod section-looks like a big crack but that is a super macro picture-the crack is very fine) The rest of the rod looks pretty good(I am NOT an expert-just reporting what I see) it is dirty in spots and there are no'eyes' although there is line, sinker and an"old" fish hook attached. Vintage Heddon Pal Deluxe Fibergalss Fly Rod #70 8' Trout D-HDH 6wt - Mint
Near perfect 1950's vintage Heddon Pal#70 8' Trout action. D-HDH(6wt) Fiberglass fly rod with original tube and green Heddon sock. As you can see from the pictures, it shines like new and begs to be fished. The marble reel seat is one of neatest of the Heddons of that era. The cork grip is in excellent condition. The windings, hook keeper and snake guides are intact and also in great condition. The ferrules as well. The only minor issues I can see are the missing top cap on the tube, and a small chip in the label where the Pal script should be. The brown aluminum Heddon tub is one of nicest ones from the 1950's I've see, with a few scratches and one tiny dent near the bottom end. This rod casts like a dream. Tossing big loops with a wf6wt line, when I lawn cast it. Obviously this is a keeper and should be fished. I'm thinning ... moreout my collection and it is definitely been well cared for. I have 2 Montague 4pc bamboo medium action fly rods which are nearly identical except for condition. Rod#1 Good condition except someone put a second coat of varnish on it and it was poorly done. All ferrals and guides appear to be in good condition. Rod#2. 9' 4 pc. bamboo fly rod. 1 tip is approx. 3" shorter. The other tip appears weak at tip. 2 guides missing from butt section. the rest of rod appears to be in good shape. The parts of these rods appear to be the same color windings etc.

This Fenwick Woodstream Lunkerstik is in very good usable condition. The writing is worn off in places and hard to read. I think this is a 2056 5 1/2 ft pole. 5 power. I was able to read the s/n S 587483. It has a Johnson Century 40th Anniversary Edition reel attached. The reel works fine. The eyelets are all good. Check pictures close. And ask questions if needed. I'm not a fishing expert. I traded some knives for this pole.

NY In Original Cloth Bag& Metal Tube 4 Piece/ 2 Tips A Real Beauty This came straight from the original owner's closet and is believed to date late 1920's to mid 1930's. EXTREMELY nice condition. Still retaining the original varnish on eyelets and tips as seen. Other than a very few very tiny rough spots in the varnish(likely from the factory) I find no flaws big or small. The carry bag has a small hole in it as seen and some wear to the tag. In my honest opinion. The rod looks like it was never used. No soil on cork an no abrasions or scratches on the nickel plated handle from a reel. On a scale of 1-100, I am confident in calling this a 99. The canvas case is torn in a few places. About half way up on the case it looks like someone pushed the rod tip through the canvas. There are a few other spots where the canvas is worn and fragile from age. It makes a great display item(see photos) The tip is on the rod. The other eyes were missing. I found two of them in the canvas case. Please look at photos to see the condition of the rod and case. The rod had a long wooden dowel in the canvas case. I think it was there to keep the rod from bending. From what I read about the rod I think it was aluminum but I am nor positive about the composition of the rod. Shakespeare Vintage 4 Pc Wonder Rod with Cloth Sleeve and Aluminum Case
This Vintage Shakespeare Wonder Rod(Fly Rod) is near mint. Doesn't look used at all. The Base is approximatey 21 3/4" Long, the 3 pieces are approximately 21 1/2" 22" and 22" which all fit together good. The Green Rings on the base ends are very slightly loose but they don't look used, maybe the fiber rod"shrunk a little" over time. The Cloth Sleeve isn't what I call dirty but would look better if washed. The Aluminum Case would look better if polished, no dents though. A Rare Find Indeed!
