The inside of the lid has a foam strip that is intact. There is a plastic tube that fits inside a carved area in the lid with"DECO" on it; there are 3 holes in the cap and the words HI and LOW with arrows pointing in either direction. I don't know how this cannister works. But presume it has something to do with humidity for keeping the tobacco fresh. The measurements are: 7 3/4" high X 5 5/8" across the open top X 5 5/8" across the bottom of the base. The bottom is covered in brown felt; it looks original.

Layers of cork and bamboo veneer have been applied to metal canister to create pleasing and tactile Asian bamboo scene design. Both lids fit well and securely. There is no odor of prior use and the interior is very clean. My guess is that this was used as a decorative object rather than its intended function. Here for sale is a vintage carved wood cork bottle stopper. It looks like Anri. But has no markings so can't be sure. The stopper measures about 4 1/2 inches from the bottom of the cork to the top of the hat. And 7 inches overall.

Hard to find retro vintage pipe tapper ashtray. Mid-20th century quality construction of solid Walnut wood with a heavy amber glass ashtray and an original pipe tapping cork in the center. Rare to find a 50+ year-old tapping ashtray! The solid walnut holder has a stylized square parallelogram shape with with two sides slanting outward and two sides slanting inward. Great modern effect. The glass is in excellent condition. The cork is in good condition. See pics) Square measures 8.75 x 8.75 The large vintage amber ashtray is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The amber glass portion is 8 inches in diameter. The wood base is in good condition with minimal signs of use. It is solid wood 1 1/2 inches tall and 9 inches square. Antique, Victorian, solid silver and gilt, 1880, engraved and ornate card/cigar case, fully hallmarked for Frederick Elkington and gifted to Viscount Dungarvon. The internal engraving reads"presented to Lieutenant Viscount Dungarvon from the Frome Troop N.S.Y.C(North Somerset Yeomanry Cavalry) Nov 24th 1882" The external case is engraved depicting singing birds within foliage. Influenced by the designs from Japan, beautiful delicate chased and scrolled surrounds, nobility'Dungarvon' crown, graceful engine turned floral decoration, top and bottom, with a superb complete gilt interior. This is as good as it gets with regards engraved and ornate card/cigar cases. How many of these have you seen. An extremely rare one off find. I've only got one, once it's ... moregone. it's gone. You'll never find another one, and if there's one thing I've learned about antiques when items are of quality and extremely rare, he who hesitates usually loses out. Please look at all 12 photo to fully appreciate this stunning case. It's in superb original condition. Bearing the FE maker's mark for Frederick Elkington. The case lid and base are both marked with a FE mark, in addition to the Queen's head duty mark and a lion passant, the Birmingham assay office mark of an anchor, and the date letter a"Gothic f" for 1880. A beautiful example of a card/cigar case by one of the very best Victorian silversmiths. Considering the age of this exquisite item. It's in exceptionally good condition with no damage, dents or splits. It does have some age related patina/wear commensurate with 132 years of age, but nothing unusual. Up for your consideration is a vintage copper cigar/cigarette box with a cork lined interior. The box has a copper lift off type lid that is also cork lined. The box is in vintage condition. With age appropriate wear- it has no dents or major scratches, and the cork lining is in perfect condition, it's not tearing, or ripped, or pitted. Please see images for a visual of it's description. Vintage ANRI Carved Wood Character Head Bottle Stopper/Pourer is for Auction. Very detailed carving of a fellow in a green Tyrolean(Alpine) hat with a large feather smoking cigar. The liquid pours through the cigar. The pourer is a metal tube which goes down through neck and the cork attached to the bottom) Very nice patina to wood and paint. Everything with this stopper is original. No repairs. The item is approximately(including the feather& cigar) 4-1/2" tall and 2-1/2" wide. Cork does show the age. But is fully functional.
