Vintage Fly Rod Padded Carry Case with Handle Flyfishing Fly Tying
Up for sale is an older Fly Rod Carry Case. I could not find any markings as to maker on this great looking case. The thick exterior will protect your favorite fly rod very well.This exterior.I believe is naugahyde, and still feels supple. There is a heavy duty zipper that closes around the reel section. That zipper works well.The exterior has a nice leather like patina and a sturdy carry handle. It measures about 58 inches overall and 8 1/2 inches wide at the reel section. The rod section is about 2 1/2 inches across.The original name tag paper is still with this and it is waiting for your name. The interior reel section is a plush brown.The bottom plug is wood. I found two small cracks in the exterior naugahyde(see finger picture) You don't see them made like this anymore. This is a very nice older case for your split bamboo or other ... morevintage rod. ANTIQUE Vintage FLYFISHING Vermont Fly Tying LOT LARGE GROUP!
Fresh from a Vermont estate. A large lot of VINTAGE fly tying material believed to date from the 1950's and 1960's. Includes MANY feathers of many varieties including 3 complete wings. Fur, chenille and metallic threads and a very primitive and grouchy tying vise. There are packaged materials from several sources. Mostly unopened, and mostly priced at 10 to 20 cents. Most of the feathers are stored in condiment jars from the Fifties and Sixties. Some long tail feathers are loose. There are also 12+ packets of what appear to be very fine lengths of brass chain from the Marine Model Co- not sure what the intended use was. Includes a still-liquid bottle of Rainer Fly Head Cement. Sold by Ranier Sales in Seattle before there were zip codes. Brands of packaged materials also include Burch& Co. Spokane WA.
