Antique OVAL TABLE RUNNER damask velvet doiley metallic lace tapestry needlepoin
This outstanding table runner measures 28" x 15" 71cm x 38cm) It dates from the 1920s. And comes from Switzerland(see photo 9 for label) The center oval applique is a rose/green/gold/ecru damask fabric edged with narrow dark gold metallic braid. The wavy oval shape of the whole runner is edged with dark gold metallic lace that is scalloped. Dusty rose velvet surrounds the center damask applique. And there is a ring mark at one end, also some very tiny marks that hardly show(photos 5 and 6) The back is lined with gold silk which has some very pale stains(photo 10) Given the age of this table runner. The embroidery wraps around the purse and covers the top. Label inside reads"Corii Tokyo" It was purchased by my neighbor when he was stationed in Tokyo in the 40's. I couldn't find another like it anywhere online, however I did find a Corii purse that sold for $85. The only flaw I can find is pointed out: a tiny thread. This is a long and low bowl or dish with teal color crackle glaze over a metallic gold. The item may be hand painted. Judging by a scratched-in name on the bottom. The teal color is thinner on the lower edges next to the bottom of the bowl. But looks to have been created that way rather than by wear and tear. The inside is the solid teal color and has markings in each end that appear to be faint water-stain lines. Please view my pictures) A very pretty piece with no chips or cracks. Antique Frame with Gold Metallic Oval Matte
Great antique gold colored frame with gold metallic oval shaped decorative matte! This matte is made of a gold paperboard and has an intricate decorative pattern. The glass is intact. But the rear stand is missing, however there is a small loop for wall hanging. The entire frame measures 5.25 by 4 inches, the opening is 4.75 by 3.5 inches and the oval matte opening is 3 by 4 inches. The frame itself has a bit of tarnishing as seen in the pictures due to age, but otherwise excellent condition!
