Lot of 14 spools Vintage GUDEBROD Thread, 1 silk, 13 nylon, 2 NEW, 12 used
Up for your consideration are spools of vintage Gudebrod thread. The large black spool is silk thread. The label reads Gudebrod Bros Champion Silk. It is almost a full spool of thread. It is marked 0 which is a 600 yard spool. There are two new-unused spools of brown nylon thread. They are 50 yards each and are color number 541. There is a third spool of color 541 that is almost full-the same size as the two new ones. There is a fourth spool that appears to be the same color but it has no label of any kind on it. It is about 1/2 full. There is a terrific bright deep blue. Nylon, 50 yards, color 245 that is almost full. The black and yellow spool is about 3/4ths full, is nylon, 50 yards-can't make out what the number is. There is a white nylon, 50 yds that is almost full but the first row on the spool is dirty so it probably only has 3/4th ... moreof the bright white color of thread. There is a yellow, nylon, 50 yards color 207 that is about 3/4ths full but it too has a first row that is dirty so perhaps half the spool is the true yellow color. There is a black nylon that is about 1/2 full-it has no label so I do not know how much is on it. There is a sky blue that is 50 yards, nylon, and has perhaps 1/4 of the spool remaining. There is a red nylon, 50 yards with about 3/4ths of the spool remaining-there is no number for the color. There is a terrific gold, color 209, nylon, 50 yards that is about 3/4ths full. The pictures show the tops and bottoms of the spools of thread. I bought these at an estate sale and the person knew absolutely nothing about how old they might be. Here is a great lot of fly tying thread. I am counting 22 spools, because two spools of white do not have much left on them. There are lots of fluorescent colors and two metallic spools. All the spools shown in the little case are silk and have that marked on the top of the spool and those are vintage. There may be others that are silk, too, but they aren't marked. There is some kind of a tool in the little plastic box. And also a little bottle of cement. I'm not sure if the cement is any good, but since I'm shipping this flat rate, I included it since it won't change the postage to do so. The Sports Illustrated book has chapters on casting. And other topics of interest for fly fishing. I think anyone with an interest in fly fishing would enjoy the little book.
