The 2000 was one of seven of the series of free spool models. The reel was not serialized but stamped"Made in Sweden" on the foot. The large knurled aluminum knob is part of the drag system which was incorporated into the handle. By tightening the knob to a desired tension. You could apply drag washer pressure against the drive gear assembly which is similar to the conventional star drag wheel. Holding the handle still you will notice the knurled knob rotating when the fish made his run. This reel is rare to find in this condition in its original box. Reel is dual click/pawl and is reversible retrieve. RHW or LHW. There are no cracks. Dents or major flaws with this reel. The reel foot has a minor bend at one end which could be straightened if needed. The reel performs very well and being a salmon size it could be used on a larger rod. Perhaps a switch or spey rod. A Mitchell 330 Otomatic(Stripped& Polished) a early high Speed fishing reel with the higher speed retrieval gears and a sprung loaded handle with plastic twist grip. The foot has a very clear 5 on the front edge of the food Stainless steel screws on the cover plate. It has been paint stripped and polished(not easy as normal paint stripper does not touch the paint used on later Mitchell reels) its not a perfect mirror polish as it is cast aluminum and can only be polished to a point. It looks great and could be used without fear of damaging any paintwork, it has been serviced and works well. The reel has a shallow cross head clutch screw spool fitted. The bailarm. Anti reverse and bail arm lock works as it should, the bail arm chrome is fairly good and bright with a few marks and light wear. A nice vintage match reel to use. Up for auction today I have an absolutely beautiful Vintage French Weave Fly Fishing Creel with Side Hole and Leather Accents. It has two straps. One long strap for over the shoulder and a shorter strap/handle. All of the leather is intact but does show signs of wear and exposure to the elements. It has a factory embossed ruler across the top of the lid that measures up to 8" Right above the ruler are the words"Made in British Hong Kong" they are wearing off but are still readable. The lid fastens shut with a leather strap and buckle that functions well. This creel is well used but still very useable or for display. The measurements are 14" wide x 7" high x 5-1/2" deep. here is a great 4 inch salmon reel made by jimmy smith reel maker at alnwick england. the reel is in fantastic working order with no play on spindle or any faults at all. The only thing i can see that i must point out is the tiny bit of pitting on the one part of the edge, you can see this in pics it really makes no difference to the reel at all. it has chunky black handle and ribbed brass foot. this is a sort after reel at a great price ready for the new season.i do not wish to put down any other salmon reels for sale on ebay but if you look you will see that the salmon perfects i have for sale are in far better condition compared to the others listed and far cheaper starting price. Vintage Heatons Zephyr Style Centrepin Reel. Wood and Alloy 3 1/8"
This is an excellent example of the combination alloy and wood. Centrepin reel by Heatons. The reel is in good useable condition and it spins well. It measures 3 1/8" in diameter and has a cast alloy back plate to which, you find the line guide and ratchet button attached. The reel has a riveted brass foot. The spool is made of turned wood and has a concentric line decoration to its face. The rear flange of the spool os alloy. The alloy central hub has the 4 screw Heatons latch and an adjustable spindle pivot screw. This allows you to balance the spool. The reel is fitted with twin horn handles.

The bail returns nicely when you wind the handle and the optional anti reverse locks as it should. Much of t he black paint finish remains but there are rubbed areas showing red primer in places. Circa 1890. Possibly by Malloch or Slater. Very similar in looks and construction to a Hardy Birmingham reel. A very well made reel in excellent condition. They describe the reel better than i can. if you wish to see a picture of another area i have a couple spots left that i can post 2 more pics. this reel is a 1970 model according to the numbers(A513377) it also has the rare manual, look for one of these on ebay. old lube has been removed and replaced with high tech lube in case you want to fishwith this reel. the large/deep spool has a removeable filler/arbor so it takes less line to fill the spool. for the folks that are not famillar with these auto bail reels- just put pressure on the bail wire with your forefinger, cast and release the bail, just turn the crank and the bail wire closes. feel free to ask any questions about this reel, don,t cost nuttun. thanks for looking

Boxed Allcocks Match Aerial Vintage Centrepin Fishing Reel
A fine example of this reel in excellent overall condition and full working order. 4 ½” in diameter. And a spool width of approximately 9/16 th of an inch. Model C340 was introduced by Allcocks in 1965 and was produced until 1971. It was by far the most popular Aerial style reel. All aerials were manufactured for Allcocks to retail by J W Young& Co and the inside back plate for this reel is impressed JWY 468. This indicates a casting date of April 1968. So the reel was probably made shortly thereafter. Comes complete with original box that is showing its age.

Check out my! Reclaimed Mitchell head to housing shim Part No 49 pre Part No(81024) mainly for half bail and 4th& 5th version reels. This shim and the Baffle plate shim 49b are identical on the early versions of Mitchell reels they change OD when Mitchell altered the serial numbering system in the late 1950's Your reel will need one possibly a pair if there is play at the rotating head to housing interface when the hexagonal nut on the baffle plate is tight.
