Please note most Takamine guitars in that period have spruce top and Indian Rosewood back/side. This is a rare model with Cedar top and Brazilian rosewood. It has the Ramirez sound and volume. With very deep base and typical Spanish tone. It is well played guitar so there were some normal playing wears and marks(shown on the pics) But structurally there is no issue at all, no crack, no neck buckle in and fret buzz. The guitar was set up recently by a local luthier so it plays very comfortable with maximum volume. Department of California"HONORABLE DISCHARGE" certificate for Comrade Rio Delos Barber, dated at Riverside, California on MArch 5th, 1894. Rio Delos Barber was a surgeon and served in the 35th Regiment United States Colored Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. The document states: Rio D. Barber is 45 years of age. Was born in New York State of New York and is by occupation a Physician entered the service on the 24th day of September, 1861 as a Private in Co. C 85th Regt New York Infantry and was finally dischared on the 26th day of September 1864 as Hospital Steward 35th Regt U.S. Colored Troops by reason of expiration of term of service, having served three years. Very good cosmetic& working order. Has two lights that light up and the back door slides open and shut. On the front of the station it says California Western the Redwood Route and Rio Grande Station since 1862. Uses one C size battery. Not included. Measures 11 3/8: long. 5" deep and about 5" tall. This is a used vintage post card. Postmarked 1918. Card shows the Royal Gorge. Grand Canyon of the Arkansas, Height of walls, 2627 Feet Above the track. Denver and Rio Grand Railroad, Colorado. I do not know who the card publisher is. Postcard has worn. Rounded corners, and is missing top paper on them. The bottom left hand corner also has a crinkle or almost crease. The edges are also worn and are missing top paper. The overall condition is average to good, always check corners and edges for possible wear. see scan) As grading is subjective, please look at scan for faults/defects. A postally unused card may have writing on the reverse. The Golden Age of postcards. Marked by the"divided back" began on March 1, 1907 with the enactment of a new law by Congress. This law, for the first time, made it legal to pen a message on the reverse ... moreside of a postcard. The address was to be written on the right side of the reverse while the left side was reserved for writing messages. With the passage of this new law, the postcard hobby became a public addiction in America. Publishers printed millions of cards in this era, most being printed in Germany, the world leader in lithographic processes at the time. At the height of this country wide mania. WWI began and it brought with it, a crash in the hobby as the supply of postcards from Germany came to an end.
