This is a lovely rare antique American figural napkin ring c1900 which has a scout at attention saluting with a pole in his left hand/side. It is unmarked as as to maker or number. Which is how it was actually made according to the books. It is shown in the book by Gottschalk and Whitson in plate 677 on page 274. See phote below. They valued it at $350-500 in 1996. 17 years ago. It is quite a rare figural napkin ring. This figural napkin ring is in very good to excellent condition. I have not polished it. Just washed it in warm soapy water to remove any dirt. There is no damage, most of the silverplating looks good and intact, there are no repairs and there is no pitting. There may be a few rough spots around the scout's hat and face, but these areas are hard to clean. There may and a couple minor bumps on the edge of the ring. Otherwise all very very good. This is a hard to find rare figural napkin ring.
