Tennessee Shad - Very Rare - Reel McKoy - James Lovingood - Rapala - Old lure
Here is a chance to own a part of Tennessee lure carving history. James Loving and Boot Anderson were fishing buddies back in the early 60's. I was told by James L. that one day. Back in early 1962, a game warden gave him and boot 2 rapala minnow baits. They were anxious to try them and before the day was done, they had slain the bass and destroyed the only 2 rapalas they owned. Unable to acquire any more, well, the rest is history. This is when they broke out the pocket knives and started making their own. So here, the Reel McKoy sits and is ready to be owned by someone who loves these old Tennessee shad lures. "Rare Tennessee Shad " Early Boots Anderson Old wood lure - Must see & read !!
Here we are offering a Boots Anderson Tennessee shad lure.The Tennessee Shad crankbait originally designed and made by George"Boots" Anderson in the early 60's. At some point in the late 70's early 80's the company was purchased by Lonnie Warwick and Roy"Moonie" Winston. Both former players for the Minnesota Vikings. I believe this lure was right around the transition of ownership but Boots made. There are a lot of the"as i refer to them- Lonnie's" out there, this one i believe was an early Lonnie type TS made by Boot Anderson because it has a hand painted gill mark and hand painted eyes. Most of the Lonnie's have no gill mark and decals for eyes. I have only found a handful of these over 10 or 12 years of collecting these Tennessee shad crankbaits.
